ATS has an international membership so let's talk inflation about the country we live in.

Japan... gas was 132 a liter a few weeks ago , now hitting 160 in the Tokyo area
Potatoes are going for about 70 yen each or about 75 cents each
Watermelons are hitting about 22 dollars for the large ones ( this price has not changed in 30 years though )
Bananas from the Philippines are still 4 for a buck, not sure why on this, been this way for decades.

Maybe you have not read the creature from jekyll island. Your observations are a result of the hidden enemy (currency war) waged by the fed. The US exports inflation. When the US dollar sees inflation, all things related to the US dollar should rise. Things that do not rise in price but should are probably part of a contract and the price will adjust upon the contract renewal.

I'm in Mexico. Yes, I'm noticing some prices increase. Cost of living is still not equal to that of the US, but lots of things are going up.

Pretty much everything is up.
Gas was $3.09 a gallon today which is near double this time last year.

Lumber, steel, plastic...
Way up.
Used cars and houses are at record prices around here too.

Ignore the government numbers on inflation because they are nowhere near accurate.

Central Florida
---
Gas $2.87 gallon
4 Bedroom House $410,000
Beef $3 lb
Bananas .67 a lb
Milk (Organic) $5.75 a gallon
Apples $2 a lb
---
The largest increase by far has been housing. Not only are they going for 400k easily, they are selling in less than 24 hours above asking price.

A couple 24 ounce malt lickies, a cheap cigar, and an order of fried chicken gizzards went from $10 to $12 overnight.
I'm going to have to rework the whole annual budget.

East coast USA,
USD is currently going for about four dollars per dollar, and rising.

Housing is unobtainable, jobs are everywhere but they can't pay a living wage, food has been slowly climbing for about 30 years, and the government trashed all the good used cars to bail out GM, who in turn made more bad new cars... which are now old and dead. My old truck is getting more valuable every day- faster than the gas in the tank!
The trees, oddly enough, are worth no more than they were 25 years ago... until you've converted them to lumber- at which point the price of the product has gone up 400% in about 18 months, with the extra cash all going to the few big lumber yards left in this country.

If we don't do something smart soon, we'll run out of food nation wide. I suppose if 50% of the 99% starve before 2023, those who made it will have enough money to keep up for another few years.

Balvenie whisky prices have gone up dramatically. I'm not enjoying my first world problems.

Gas is a dollar higher today than a year ago this time. Talking head told me an hour ago.

Under Dubya, when gas was over $3, me and my ex fiancé noticed that the grocery bill kept rising and rising.

It went from 20 or so bags for $400 to 10-12 bags for $400. Had to start eating more pot pies and burritos n' rice.

Milk was on sale at a GAS STATION, 2 gal for $7, and that was way cheaper than Walmart...

I foresee another outrageous price hike coming....loaf of bread for a day's wages? Who knows, but it is going to get uncomfortable on Earth. In more ways than one.

If you can do a garden, get it started. Stock up on beans and rice and things that last. Or you can run to BG with your empty petri dishes.

And the loosies went from 3 for $1 to 3 for 2. Glass pens and chore boy are $3 a piece.

But 211s are still $1.09/16 oz can, so, there's a silver lining I guess.

About a 5p 10p 20p or even a 50p increase on some food produce in the U.K.

Noticed this last year but it seems to be more wider range of items now

Not only that, but gradual/sneaky reductions in the weight within packaging of foods ranging from meats through to crisps (that I have noticed so far).

In North West England UK building materials have shot up. Almost £100 extra for a pallet of housebricks. Last week i bought some decking boards for an outside job. It was £9.50 for a 4.2m board. A day later the same boards had increased to £11.50!!. Theres also been a milk increase over here due to a plastic shortage for the bottles. Personally i just think its greed by the big players in the market. Using covid and Brexit as an excuse to inflate prices

Can confirm Florida housing is reaching ridiculous prices. Pre-covid you could buy a 10k sq ft plot of land for $30-45k, depending on whether or not it was cleared. Now they're closer to $80-110k.

Gas is creeping up higher and higher. Eggs and milk have gone up a bit. I buy meat from a farm butcher directly, and those prices have been about steady.

Located on the Treasure Coast in Florida.

Can you believe that we came buy houses for almost 500 bucks for real

I haven't heard of any $500 houses since we left Detroit a couple years ago.

You can still buy some undeveloped land for lower prices around Lake O, but it's the typical "own land in Florida!" scheme of either swamp land, floods half the year, has no legal access, or some combination of that. But those prices have remained relatively unchanged in the current market.
