Mandatory Introduction Thread

Hello from somewhere in the shadows!
Been a lurker on here since the lead up for 2012. Thought about joining a couple times but didn't have anything worth contributing. Now seems like a good time, if nothing else but to start a fight about something other than politics. What I really want to do is discuss the possibility that UFO's are animals.

I love how more times than not, I can get news here before elsewhere. Keep up the good work!

Anyway, two years from now I'll get around to posting that thread.

Aliens ARE animals...their manners are atrocious.

I don't remember the name of the book that I read back in the nineties, but it was about some living spaceship. That is all that I can remember about the plot, but it was an interesting read for me despite not liking to spend time on books. Anyway, welcome to this place.

Peter F. Hamilton, maybe? A superb science-fiction author. There are living ships, guts and all, in some of his books.
'The Reality Disfunction' is a good one to start with.

But yes, I have considered the possibility of animals (life-forms to be PC).

yep.... 'creatures' which live and exist in the high altitudes of Earth atmosphere

years ago the unknown substance called Angel Hair was found on the ground in small clumps after a moderately chilled night, only to dissolve in the higher temps of daylight & sunshine,,
It was theorized the fluffy wisps of cotton-candy like material was the remains of those elusive sky-borne, autonomous, gliding Creatures that are gifted with bio-illuminessence (like some deep sea, rare, lifeforms)

I may have some help with part of that.

That's Chaff, from a Chaff tube which usually gets shot out of planes when they pop flares.
Sounds like what you describe and it would come randomly from above depending on winds and exercises.
It's purpose is to disturb radar and present a large image for a brief period of time. Hopefully long enough for the missile to get bored and quit looking.
