I once believed that world-wide threat would be enough to unite the people of the world.

But as the pandemic has shown us, that is not the case.

Experts are confused, leaders duplicitous, populations suspicious, a reasoned, effective response becomes impossible.

If there, indeed, be intelligences not of this Earth among us, let us hope that they peaceful. If they are not, we stand no hope of resistance; remember that it they who were able to make the very long and dangerous journey Here, not we who traveled to confront Them.

Further, I doubt that it matters little whether our leaders and governments present these entities as either friend or foe; as friends it will be up to the Entities themselves to choose how much, or how little they wish to interact with us.

As foes, it will up to these Entities to inhabit their role as "aggressors" by actively attacking (not merely observing and "shadowing" military operations). This is something "they" have not done, in any real sense, despite, given the capabilities they have already demonstrated by merely getting here, they could easily have accomplished.

And if our leaders/governments endeavor to falsely cast these Entities in the role of "Threats to Humanity", those same leaders/governments will be placing themselves in the very difficult position of demonstrating their ability to defend against the threat; the threat posed by an alien technology far in advance of our own. Failure to show that they are equal to the very threat they, themselves, attempt to manufacture will do nothing to solidify their hold on the power and control they might wish to retain; in fact, it would accomplish the exact opposite.

I'd like to think that if they were hostile they wouldn't have waited so long in the shadows waiting for the right time to ask us to the dance.

On one hand I'm excited in a weird way but on the otherhand highly skeptical and my bar of expectations is set very low. If we thought the levels of propaganda games was high in past 4 years (which it was), we probably haven't seen nothing yet.

Hiding current and future secrete projects in plain sight. If it is a project and they don't tell the public relations group, then they don't know what it is instead of admitting it is theirs. Plausible deniability for the ones doing the releasing.

If they have the level of technology that they appear to, we could all be kept in a false, delusional world of slavery to TPTB, 9-5 and family while in the "real" reality we're toiling in their gold mines and/or producing the proverbial "Loosh," for all we know.

Let's just hope that they like their pets and/or have some strange sense of empathy... or at least have such total dominance that they mostly ignore us.

If your mastery of physics is such that you can travel the thousands of light years of interstellar space in reasonable amounts of time, or even traverse dimensions at will, why would you need biological primitives to toil for any reason on your behalf?

Once again we should contemplate the implications inherent in the question; "Of what to use to Gods are starships?".

I think that these UFO/USO encounters have been occuring for all of recorded history. Meaning that if it is a species of ET then, they have been here longer than us. We may very well be their science experiment, for reasons known probably only to a very few. If they were to announce their presence it would rock the religious world. Any country, or person, who possessed the secret(s) to "anti-gravity" would instantly become the most powerful entity on the planet.

Your supposition fails to take into account the full extent that fossil-fuel production and fossil-fuel-based transportation pervades the world economy.

The introduction of a mode of transportation not based in any way on fossil fuels, or their derivatives, would completely supplant the primary basis of the world's economy; and instantly elevate the introductory entity to the pinnacle of a massive new economic model.

And you claim that China has had this capacity for the last 17 years?!

China may be currently enjoying the perks of being a big player, a "whale" in casino terms, a "biggest customer" worthy of being kow-towed to.

But if China truly controlled the secret to antigravity, and could therefore virtually supplant the economic structure of the entire planet, every other nation of the world wouldn't just be "acting" as if China was in charge, they'd be literally and publicly signing themselves over to Chinese governance for a chance to share in the technology.

Well, yeah, my imperfectly delivered point was that we seem way out of our depth.

At the level of knowlege they seem to have, I doubt we could really fathom them except to say our ideas of dangerous non-human intelligence seem quaint.

They are reportedly interacting with some number of humans for some hard to glean reason. Most of the more "real seeming" accounts with the non human faction smacks of initiatory behavior.

Gods wouldn't need starships... but maybe their subjects would need them, or the concept of "starship," to contextualize the "gods?"

Dunno. Things may get even more interesting.

I agree they may be plasma-based. The thing is, based on my experience, I know for a fact they are intelligent. It is not just a "natural phenomenon" like lightning. They interact. They hover. They make turns. They could come together and explode and move together towards a certain direction. And they don't take on just one form.
