NGAD isn't going to be a traditional fighter. They need range, and loiter time more than maneuvering. There was an interesting comment I heard from a pilot that flew F-22s for several years. He said that top speed, and maneuverability were the last things on his mind in any fight. It's all about information, and the God's eye view of the battlefield they have now with the F-22 and F-35.

This is what the article says:
The image above appears on page 55 (āNext Generation Air Dominanceā) of the Air Forceās biennial report for acquisition, which it released last week. The aircraft depicted is a large, diamond-shaped fighter jet with large engine air intakes over the airplaneās wing, trailing to the left and right of the cockpit, where the intakes would be shielded from radar from below. The aircraft also features two engines, a bubble canopy cockpit, and two vertical stabilizers that can be retracted to fold flat into the wings.

lol the YF-23 the Jet that never was and people are still talking about it , That should tell you something about that Jet.
It was Beautiful to say the least , I did prefer her over the F-22 .
