You know I just would love for things to settle down but with Bush in office that does not seem possible, I hope no one is surprised that gas prices are rising after all Bush buddies in Texas and elsewhere are reaping the benefits of supporting him, as for the rest of the supporters who voted him in, remember smile when you are pumping your gas and paying two dollar a gallon, you deserve it!

U.S. Broadcast Exclusive: Secret U.S. Plans For Iraq's Oil Spark Political Fight Between Neocons and Big Oil

In an explosive new report, investigative journalist Greg Palast charges that President Bush was planning to invade Iraq before the September 11th attacks and was considering two very different plans about what to do with Iraq's oil. The plans reportedly sparked a political fight between neoconservatives and big oil companies. Greg Palast joins us in our firehouse studio and we air his exclusive report, "Secret U.S. Plans For Iraq's Oil" for the first time in this country. [includes rush transcript]

While I didn't vote for Bush, I have a hard time believing that domestic oil suppliers are benefitting from current gas prices. Since we import approximately 90% of all the oil consumed in the US from foreign nationalized companies, I don't think Bush would have enough leverage to have any impact on prices for domestic producers.

Although, I do think it would be fair to say that the higher prices will put the domestic producers on a more even playing field with the foreign sources. It will be interesting to see what happens to prices leading up to the next election year however.

This is nutts, Clinton had plans for attacking Iraq so what. I'm sure you can find some document somewhere in the Pentagon showing the best way to attack Tahiti.

Furthermore, if you don't understand why the price of gas is up so much perhaps you need to read up on supply and demand. Another factor is that we can only produce so much gasoline from oil. And since the all knowing liberal lobbyist have shut down all new construction of refineries in the US there really is no way to increase production. Fact is, there is plenty of oil to be had, we just can't process it fast enough to keep up with demand.

But I know this will not go well here at ATS so here's a theory. The muslim arabs are artificially running up the price of crude as an indirect attack against the US. That's why we need to drill up in the ANWR.
