5 Ways Contact With Extraterrestrials Will Save Our Civilization

Found this elsewhere and in no way endorse their theories in fact it's mostly the opposite on this topic. #1 We have no way of knowing any or some alien(s) if they exist will be benevolent. #2 Its viewpoint is very metaphysical and honestly think it whitewashes the dirt, grit, and unpredictability of our real world especially right now. #3 it totally ignores the possibility they have already been discovered and covered up. Basically, it comes across as a happy movie plot, when I think disclosure and contact will be dirty and plagued with any problems and unforeseen unimaginable consequences.

1,2,and 4 I think are pretty valid.

We already have multiple parallels drawn with stories between ET's and taking care of our planet.. theres at least 2 or 3 major well known UFO/ET stories that center on that topic and it makes sense.

#2 is so true. 80% of our human disputes are all about resources. If we had access to free energy or the ability to create massive amounts of energy at a low cost, it would change humanity forever, and I think ET could bring that to us.

#4. Other resources that we have interest in can be found in the vastness of space. Real exploration could become a thing again.

I am on the fence about whether or not they already did number 5 millenia ago.Its possible.

The other 4-sure they could do all of that easy if they managed to visit- but I doubt they would want to.

Most likley they would scan the planet and deem us too risky to let out into the wider space community due to the fact that we are a crazy,hyper violent resource guzzling warrior species who have murdered anything which got in our way,or even if we just fancied a tasty snack.

If I was an alien I would slap a quarantine notice on earth,and maybe visit again in a thousand years to see if the dolphins have taken over.

Personally, I think it makes more sense we get invaded by alien fungal spores that have lain dormant in the vaccuum of space for eons after being blasted out of some gigantic mushroom on a world they've conquered already. The spores drift until they find a suitable world, land and colonize and consume everything.

Why not? Seems as likely as your scenario. And to be fair on earth, fungi are the oldest living and largest lifeforms on earth. Earth used to be dominated by massive fungus forests.

Why wouldn't aliens be fungal beings? Seems like the most likeley candidate to me. They literally eat everything and can exist nearly everywhere on earth. They'd do better in space than any humanoids we know of.

This is pretty much where I am at on the topic. On this from another poster, Individually we may have esoteric thoughts and motives, but collectively we are almost all barbaric imbeciles. It doesn't matter if we have enough resources sooner or later there is an argument, distrust, and fighting. It's about the need for power and control, we saw this in Somalia where plenty of food stores were delivered but they were captured and rationed off and used for power and control.

My far-out theory is Earth is indeed off-limits and the occasional sighting is scientific monitoring or the teenage aliens breaking the rules and joyriding through the atmosphere and occasionally crashing.

Was reading somewhere else and they theorized that for example octopi are actually alien species and they are terrorized by the humans eating of calamari LOL.
