So sad to hear this news... I met him at the airport and got photos with him in 2016, he said "God Bless You" and I was so star struck but he was just humble, genuine and gave me the time of day!

I caught his attention because when I first saw him, I told my dad "That's Earl Simmons, my favorite artist growing up" and I think because I didn't say "DMX" he was intrigued.

I read his biography E.A.R.L. in my teens and his story is incredible. The hand he was dealt was extremely challenging and it did come through in his lyrics and his energy.

I blasted dmx "its dark and he'll is hot and his next album " flesh of.my flesh blood of.my blood" .some damn good songs on those albums! Rip dmx!

This reminds me of a story about Confucius meeting Lao Tzu. When asked about it Confucius is alleged to have said

So good. I could never keep up with all the names.

He was such a huge hit back in my high school days used to bump him in my headphones at the skate park all the time he had a way with high energy music and I’m not usually one for gangster rap.

This made me real sad to hear today. Definitely DMX is tied to some fun childhood memories
Not to mention, I really always admired his keeping it real and I liked his prayers too.


Oh, and Belly has some of the most amazing scenes in cinema. I didn't think much of the end, myself.

The soundtrack was dope too.

I thought I prepared myself accordingly(since his heart attack) for this eventual outcome,but this one hurts...And I know I don't know him personally and he never heard of me but he was one of my dawgs

I remember the first time I heard DMX. It was in a LL CoolJ song. When I heard DMX I was like who is this? When is he coming out with an album?



First MF Doom now DMX. This is shaping up to be a terrible year for HipHop.
