Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth II's husband, has died aged 99, Buckingham Palace has announced.

The prince married Princess Elizabeth in 1947, five years before she became Queen, and was the longest-serving royal consort in British history.

The couple had four children, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Prince Phillip Duke of Edinburgh dead at 99

Sad day for royalists and the royal family.

R.I.P Phillip.

They just changed the schedule on BBC Radio 2 to give us an update. Bless his soul. Great Duke a constant through our lives in a Britain that's changed so much. Every time I think of him all the putting his foot in it clangers make me smile................ ‎"It looks as if it was put in by an Indian." Vaccinated in January.
Hospitalised in February.
Released in March.
Died in April.

He lived to a good old age though. Good servant to the queen and her interests.

So you're good with MI5 taking out Princes Di, The Prince would have known what was going on.

Have a look at British Royalty and what they've amassed over the years through non ethical enterprises.

I have the deepest sympathy for Queen Elizabeth.

I watched 'The Queen Unseen' last night and it as obvious that she loved him very much.
Here it is:

Not a great year or so for the royal family.
Obviously the duke dying. Harry splitting from the family. And prince Andrew and his nonce links.

Because the queen was next in line but I think being a king supersedes that.
If a king is next in line the his wife is usually titled as queen.

Some quotes from him...

“In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, to contribute something to solving overpopulation,”

And

“Human population growth is probably the single most serious long-term threat to survival. We’re in for a major disaster if it isn’t curbed–not just for the natural world, but for the human world. The more people there are, the more resources they’ll consume, the more pollution they’ll create, the more fighting they’ll do…If it isn’t controlled voluntarily, it will be controlled involuntarily by an increase in disease, starvation, and war.”

He was actually a very funny, not politically correct, man.

Such a great loss for society and the entire planet.

He's done so much good during his time on this earth...

...... and right now I cannot think of a single one of them

I'm not a royalist but that is a pathetic thing to say.

RIP Prince Philip.

The clangers were partly becuase he did not change the assumptions of his generation. My father, who was a couple of years older, was referring to "nig-nogs" to the end of his days.

Victoria was Queen in her own right, like the present Queen, and her busband got the same treatment. Prince Albert was never officially more than Prince Consort (though he did a lot of managing behind the scenss).

That's kinda what I was asking.
There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to this royalty thing.
Shouldn't Charles be the king since he's the first born son?
The whole thing is confusing.

On a side note, i have never understood the whole royalty thing. We pick our leaders and don't respect them so I can't imagine respecting a blood line you have no say over.

It's a strange concept to me.
