With all due respect, I believe she is referring to those members of SAG/AFTRA and IATSE that have a tad bit higher profile.

I have no profile as a bitpart dayplayer. But should "high profile" actors be censored and not allowed to express their political opinion just because they are well known. I have worked with Clint Eastwood and he has my utmost respect but I reject his politics, still he has everyright to express his conservativism as Scarlet Jo has a right to express her BS.

What is it about the 1st amendment that is so hard to understand?

She isn't saying they should be censored, she is saying they have no special knowledge or intelligence and their comment s shouldn't carry more weight yet they do in today's backassward society.

Nothing hard to understand about the 1st amendment nor the 2nd, for that matter. Essentially she is just stating her opinion you know free speech.

Sort of like how you mention your SAG memberships in posts like it carries more weight.

You're free to, but keep in mind, you're just a visual toy in a 2D story for people. In other words, people into some actor or another are generally in it for the amusement only, not their personal "Oh, I can haz stupid opinions, too!" crap. Yeah, you can. But they ring hollow, because you're not a person espousing politics to me, you're something on a screen. Period.

It isn't just actors, anyone with an audience that will generally follow what they say willfully and without hesitation are just as bad as actors spouting Political nonsense!

How about we start thinking for ourselves and stop letting Actors, Musicians, News anchors, Pundits and Grifters do it for us?

Uh, no, Eastwood did not die some time ago, he's been rather busy for a man of 90, in fact.

Reagan was an actor, and Trump has a lengthy IMDb page, and Arnold was governor.

Politicians act in front of the public all the time.

However, when an actor/actress is promoting a movie that is about to be released in an explosive political climate maybe it's best they take the 5th on political opinions, the chance of making either their employer mad or the fan base they are catering too seems it be extremely high these days.

She's egotistical and so full of herself that she actually thinks her opinions carry that much weight. She isn't denouncing the idea of celebrity influence in political discourse, she's fully injecting herself into it as though she's a nucleus of political thought.
