the union is done the royals are done , end this #ing farce of a union and maybe we can get some actual #ing democracy in these islands for once

Not the tories stealing all our money and telling us whats good for us

we can all be independent countries and be happy about it

if the SNP win a majority in the election in May then the UK is over
Westminster cant deny it , the SNP are strong enough to weather Salmond , whatever the # has happened with the SNP and Salmond its obvious its because Scotland are leaving the Union and this is a play to disrupt that effort
clear as #ing day.

Maybe the people of the UK will wake up take the ball gag opt their mouths and climb off the horse
and realise we are being pumped up the collective arse and asking for more

we will remove the corruption that is westminster and we can have a new democracy , without constitutional monarchy , without devolution , just 4 separate nations who are neighbours
each with their own socialist republics with each council areas having more autonomy from central government.

I mean cmon tae # polls show majority support for Scottish independence 22nd in a row , then all of a sudden alex salmond is in hot water and there is a wedge between the SNP

sexual assault scandal , the SNP are # and covering it up , its suspect as # , you'd need to be a complete idiot not to see this as anything other than an attempt to break up the command structure of the SNP and cast doubt over the SNP before the general election

all the while 22 billion disappears under matt hancock and all the other epic # ups the UK government have carried out in our names . Yet not one of them is before a tribunal
where was matt hancock grilled for 8 hrs over his failure with the 22billion PPE
multiple ministerial codes broken, and in some cases international law and they are still in power.

yet the focus is on the beef between sturgeon and salmond.

talk aboot fishy.

pedo royals , dodgy theivin tories stealing our wealth and laundering for russian criminal gangs , but its the SNP wanting to destroy the Union thats the problem.

Anyway how is coming out of one European Union to stay in another Union good for us , apparently Unions are bad according to the tories.

The tories tell us the EU is bad and we should come out , so we are forced out and then told to stay in the UK union cus its good for us .

I cannot wait until the general election , we will see what the people want, will they have been bought off with tory lies , or will they follow their hearts and do what is right and end this corrupt UK

Another Myth. When did the SNP Support Thatcher?, Putting up politicians to stand against Labour is not supporting Thatcherism in any way shape, or form.

Everything you don't agree with, or disturrbs your echo chamber is a myth. (sad face)

Anyway...

In 1979 the SNP MPs at Westmister did a deal with Margaret Thatcher to bring down the Labour government led by James Callaghan in a vote of no
confidence. The vote of no confidence was won because of the support by the SNP - 311 votes to 310. Maggie was elected and the rest is history.

The SNP MPs were: Douglas Crawford, Margaret Ewing, Winnie Ewing, Douglas Henderson, Iain MacCormick, George Reid, Donald Stewart, George Thompson, Hamish Watt, Andrew Welsh and Gordon Wilson.

It's all in the historical record.

Amazing. Just amazing... The SNP put down a vote of no confidence in Labour's government 25 days before Thatcher did because Labour Government decided not to implement the devolution for Scotland Act, even though the majority had voted for it.

Thatcher saw her opportunity and made her move because she knew how the SNP and liberals were thinking. You could argue The Tories up until this point were gutless in calling a vote of no confidence when they believed they might not win. It was never a pact with the Tories. At least the SNP had the courage of their convictions...it cost them dearly at the election.

Care to tell me How did Plaid, The Liberals, The Northern Irish and Scottish Unionists, The independents etc all vote?, At least one Labour MP never voted handing Thatcher a majority by 1, and yet somehow it was all the SNP's fault?. Mental Gymnastics or what.

The SNP did what they had to do.

The UK was a financial basket case, So much so had to be bailed out by the IMF. Labour slashed public spending. Crime, especially youth crime was out of control. Firemen were on strike, as were the binmen. Rats were rife everywhere. Unemployment was sky-high, yet somehow you expect the SNP to support Callaghans Government?.

The country was a shambles and anyone supporting that government, any government who presided over the mess, never mind stabbed in the back over devolution, should hang their heads in shame.

How morally repugnant do you need to be to even think about challenging this unanimously voted-for piece of legislation that protects the European convention on the rights of Children here in Scotland.

And any globalist agenda so far (as in efforts to unite the world under human rulership) has already failed miserably, as elaborated on in my previous comment concerning the questions: “Whatever Happened to World Unity?” and “World Unity or Global Fragmentation?” It was a hopeless endeavor from the start. But it's definitely not the biggest threat, or should be of biggest concern, to those already prone to feelings of national pride and/or patriotism and victims (or potential victims) of nationalistic ideology. People looking to humans to bring about this global unity and getting on that bandwagon so to speak, do however receive the mark of the beast mentioned in Revelation 13:16, but that's a long story involving considerably more theology, so I won't bother you with that now.

OK, a little more theology, just to remind you that nationalistic patriots, or patriotic nationalists, also receive the mark of the beast:

... The political elements that are involved in the warfare make up the worldwide political system that Revelation 13:1-10 pictures as a ferocious “wild beast.” This includes the modern Anglo-American Dual World Power, the Seventh World Power spoken of in Bible prophecy. In fulfillment of Bible prophecy this Seventh World Power promoted the creation of an idolatrous “image” of the political “wild beast.” (Rev. 13:11-15) For more than fifty-six years now that “image” has attracted the attention of the world. The “image” is the international organization for world peace and security, first in the form of the League of Nations and now as the United Nations.

6. What symbolic “mark” do patriotic worshipers of the “wild beast” get, and what does this numerical “mark” signify?

6 Patriotic believers in national sovereignty and man-made forms of political rulership over all the earth really worship the political “wild beast.” They also trust in the “image” of that “wild beast” rather than Jehovah’s sovereign rulership by Christ. Nationalistically they lend hand and head to the support of those man-made arrangements for world domination. This results in their getting the “mark” that plainly shows that they are serving, not the interests of God’s kingdom, but those of self-governing mankind. They are not ashamed to be connected with the meaningful number, six hundred, sixty and six, the identifying number of the political “wild beast.” In the Bible six is the number used to signify human imperfection, human shortcoming. Hence, 600 plus 60 plus 6 denotes human imperfection and deficiency in an intensified way, particularly in human rulership of the earth. Today we can see more clearly than ever before the frustrating failure of man’s political rulership because of its imperfection, inadequacy and corruptness. It is found wanting before God.—Rev. 13:16-18.

7. What do political patrioteers try to force everybody else to join them in doing, and for whom does this pose a test of faithfulness?

7 Patrioteers who worship the “wild beast” and its “image” proudly wear the “number of its name [666].” They put pressure upon everybody else to force them to join in worshiping the “wild beast” and thereby getting marked as belonging to the man-made political state, not to God. ...

...
The mark of the beast

The Bible says that people receive “the mark of the wild beast” because they follow it “with admiration,” to the point of worshipping it. (Revelation 13:3, 4; 16:2) They do this by giving worshipful honor to their country, its symbols, or its military might. As The Encyclopedia of Religion states: “Nationalism has become a dominant form of religion in the modern world.” * [See also Nationalism in a Global Era, page 134, and Nationalism and the Mind: Essays on Modern Culture, page 94.]

If anything, the Coronavirus pandemic has shown the strength of the Union. While the separatists will deny it, Scotland remains viable only with UK finance and know-how. The type of know-how which has ensured flow of vaccinations and resources for testing of people in Scotland.

Not the tories stealing all our money and telling us whats good for us

Like an SNP stuck-record. Tories this, Tories that. Blah, blah, blah. Always the victim. The fact is that under devolution the Scottish nationalist government has wide ranging powers which have been misused, or not used. It's not the Tories fault the Scottish education system is failing, where once it was world class; or that social inequality has increased - less poor kids go to university than anywhere else. It's not the Tories fault that the Scottish government attempted to imprison the ex-First Minister under trumped up charges. It’s not the Tories who cannot build ferries, bridges, roads, hospitals etc…

The tragedy in Scotland is that the nationalists who have control, blame everyone else for their failures, except themselves AND people believe them!

It's because the Scottish government are working outside of their competencies. They know it, but have chosen a divisive path of confrontation. The UK signed the UNCRC in Dec 1990 so why is Scotland trying to complicate things.

This whole thing is designed to created a conflict so that the nationalists can pretend to be victims of "the English who don't care about children".

SO the tories didnt steal 22 billion ? they didnt break international law , they havent lied to the back teeth to the UK about brexit promises. They are funded by russian oligarchs to launder their dirty money
they are #in scumbags but yet the SNP are a problem for the UK , they arent stealing public wealth

the scottish government reported it, the scottish crown tried to prosecute salmond.
as id expect any justice system to investigate these allegations and it was taken to court so they obviously had some evidence of wrong doing in order to bring to trial.

Kids regardless of how much money their parents have can go to university here in Scotland, for free.

Free public transport for those over 60 and disabled,

free prescriptions for all since 2011.

Lower Council tax than England. frozen for a decade.

Free parking at hospitals.

Free school meals for children Both school and pre school,

Free sanitary products for all schools, colleges, and universities. The first country in the world to do so.

Free childcare for 2-4-year-olds.

Tories Bedroom tax..Gone

free personal care for all regardless of their income, capital, age, If you need the help, it's available...free.

All tolls on bridges scrapped and a massive new bridge built over the forth estuary, on time, and under budget.

No bailiffs kicking in doors for debt.

High NHS pay rise in the UK.

I could go on and on how the Scottish parliament has "Misused" it's "30% devolved powers", but i'll call it quits for a day. Sick and tired of schooling you lot.

The Scottish Government under the SNP does its best for the people of Scotland, unlike those at Westminster who do everything for themselves.

What we could achieve as a nation if we had total control of our finances instead of the pocket money Westminster hands us is limitless.

It's not Scotland that would be the basket case upon regaining its independence. Coupled with Brexit, England is Donald Ducked.

And that is why Scotland is in DEBT. Someone has to pay for it. No such thing as a FREE anything.

Scotland’s deficit of 8.6% of GDP is a full 6.0 percentage points of GDP higher, a gap equivalent to almost £11 billion. Total borrowing is equivalent to £2,776 per person in Scotland, compared to £855 per person across the UK as a whole.

Here we go again, Too Wee, and too stupid.

Scotlands makes its own laws and the powers and London doesn't like that. They would rather run roughshod right over our entire legal system. They forget the people of Scotland are the sovereign power, not some elected politician or unelected head of state.

The SNP has played this perfectly. Over the years they have built up a team of top drawer lawyers. Some really clever constitutional experts at that.

London has been caught with its trousers down and every kneejerk move they make falls right into the trap.

We might not win a rigged election but we will win the legal argument.

Right now, England is an international pariah. You don't throw a deal back in the face of 27 other nations and expect them just to forget about it.

Scotland will go to the international courts on its rights to sovereignty. That's the route.

It will see the back of London rule. It's inevitable.

Scotland has Zero debt. Another Myth. Taking someone's wages and handing over half as pocket money and keeping the rest to pay for services you never use. Charging someone interest on anything over and above your pocket money is not debt, it's #ing theft and extortion.

Day one of independence any talk of debt will disappear when we talk of reparations for the theft of our natural resources and our entitlement to 10% of the Assets we more than helped build up over the years.

London has amassed £2.5 Trillion, probably nearer £3 Trillion worth of debt. It makes our supposed £15 billion look like small change.

hey, we'll pay the £15 Billion from our settlement...or my preferred choice would be to just tell London to # off.

With all this additional cash you should ask why Scottish education standards are worse than England and standards continue to decline. Contrary to what you say, the OECD Pisa data shows Scottish education is behind that of the rest of the UK. Worse in reading, maths, and science. No wonder the Scottish Government have refused to release the latest OECD report on education so close to the election!

Yes, but it is God and God's kingdom that will accomplish it, not man (with their ruler, the Bible speaks of Satan as “the ruler of this world” and “the god of this system of things”, and his demons as "the world rulers of this darkness“; John 12:31, 14:30; 2Cor 4:4; Eph 6:12), and their counterfeit versions of it.(For example, after WW I was over the League of Nations was set up at The Hague in Holland, and the Federal Council of the Churches of Christ in America referred to it as “the political expression of the Kingdom of God on earth.” They are not the only ones who have used such language, or regarding its successor, the UN.)

But I was trying to avoid incorporating too much theology in my commentary (especially my initial commentary). Don't want my comments moderated again because of the phenomena described and prophecied at 2 Timothy 4:3,4 (which also makes it harder for some people to really register what I'm pointing out, to not dismiss it right away because it doesn't tickle their ears and because of the conditioned aversion to anything remotely tied into the truths* of the Bible). *: rather than the misinterpretations, which, even if someone doesn't mind what the Bible has to say about it being brought into the discussion, are often still preferred. For example with those who think of themselves as bible-believing Christians, but their 'understanding' (as perceived by them) is based on the teachings of the same churches in Christendom that have referred to the League of Nations/UN as “the political expression of the Kingdom of God on earth.” Or something similar, or churches (denominations) who have not recognized this organization to represent the image of the wild beast at Revelation 13 and all its implications, and will not acknowledge or emphasize the dangers of nationalism and patriotism and how this ties in to the subject. Because they are a part of Babylon the Great (the prostitute religious entity that rides this beast once the image comes to life and is then simply referred to as “a scarlet-colored wild beast” in chapter 17:3, cause it's no longer just a lifeless image; long story again).

“For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the wholesome* [Or “healthful; beneficial.”] teaching, but according to their own desires, they will surround themselves with teachers to have their ears tickled.* [Or “to tell them what they want to hear.”] They will turn away from listening to the truth and give attention to false stories.” (2 Timothy 4:3,4) (the bolded part is the conditioned aversion I spoke about earlier; the footnote became a bit long after my edits)

Of course, I also don't want to completely deprive people of this information and the very beneficial teaching found in the Bible concerning these subjects (pride, nationalism and a so-called “new world order” of peace and security, as aspired by the UN, the image of the wild beast mentioned in Revelation chapter 13). So I guess by now I'm getting into the theology of it all anyway.

But ATS' T&C is setup to provide an excuse for moderators to remove any commentary they don't like. And I'm often walking a fine line with one particular rule that I don't agree with, already spotted by Freeborn, but I don't want to draw any attention to it. Cause usually when I start talking about it, or someone else does in response to my commentary, it doesn't take long before my original commentary is gone. Especially on the political forums. And then my subsequent commentary with no background anymore which it is building upon, becomes a lot less meaningful or useful. I'm also not that articulate as some of the quotations I'm using to underscore or support the points, arguments or claims I'm making, or (rhetorical) questions I'm raising.

Simply regurgitating or blurting out the kind of things I've spoken about in this comment also isn't very useful/beneficial, or meaningful to others who are unfamiliar with the reasons and evidence for the identifications given in this comment for example (and the talk about Revelation). It's like feeding solid food to those who can barely process milk, “and it is difficult to explain, because you have become dull in your hearing. For although by now* [Lit., “in view of the time.”] you should be teachers, you again need someone to teach you from the beginning the elementary things of the sacred pronouncements of God, and you have gone back to needing milk, not solid food. For everyone who continues to feed on milk is unacquainted with the word of righteousness, for he is a young child. But solid food belongs to mature people, to those who through use have their powers of discernment* [Or “their perceptive powers.”] trained to distinguish both right and wrong.” (Hebrews 5:11-14)

Things like:

Nationalism is well described by the psalmist’s expression, “the pestilence causing adversities.” (Psalm 91:3) It has been like a plague on humanity, leading to untold suffering. Nationalism with its resultant hatred of other peoples has existed for centuries. Today, nationalism continues to fan the flames of divisiveness, and human rulers have not been able to stop it.

In a flurry of published information celebrating Albert Einstein’s centennial, news columnist Joseph Kraft wrote concerning Einstein’s views on nationalism: “[Einstein] set an example in renouncing nationalism. ‘I never identified myself with any particular country,’ he once wrote. He called nationalism ‘an infantile disease . . . the measles of the human race.’” (note the similarity with Psalm 91:3)

And...

If people had no national pride to manipulate, there would be nothing to play on, to build on, so it's a useful starting point for those who first promote national pride before they start pushing that particular button. As the Bible proverb puts it: “Pride is before a crash, and a haughty spirit before stumbling.” (Pr 16:18) This is a warning that the individual who does not get rid of his pride will suffer. ...

In the form of inordinate self-esteem or haughtiness, pride can also make a person more susceptible to prejudice. For example, it may make him inclined to believe propaganda that elevates his national or ethnic group. Clever propagandists, such as Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, have deliberately nurtured national and racial pride to rally the support of the masses and to malign those considered to be different or undesirable.

What more does the Bible have to say about it? “Everyone that is proud in heart is something detestable to Jehovah.” (Proverbs 16:5) “[Do] nothing out of contentiousness or out of egotism, but with lowliness of mind [consider] that the others are superior to you.” (Philippians 2:3) Ask yourself: ‘Do I take secret delight in flattering comments about my own race or national group or in disparaging remarks about others?

are “the elementary things of the sacred pronouncements of God” (Heb 5:12), the basics if you will, milk in the context of Hebrew 5:11-14. The things I mentioned regarding the image of the wild beast, the original wild beast (I quoted from an article) and Babylon the Great are not simple basics. But I couldn't resist after your question (well, before that already actually, cause I started down that path in my last comment on page 4; felt like I couldn't just leave it hanging like that).

Nice try.
We pay more per head of population approaching 2k, we don't GET 2k more. We actually pay in 2k more. it would be a lot more if our GDP was calculated as and when it left Scotland's noarder and not when it leaves English ports adding to England's GDP..

Another reason the Sea border changed in an underhanded deal. Not voted on, not even debated, just stolen from under our feet on the evening of Scotland's devolution back in 1999 to make England GDP look better...or Scotlands poorer more like.

Here's someone else using the same terminology “aversion” when speaking about the same subject of people having been conditioned with it (speaking of himself, but that's the implication of his words). He is however taking some of his information from some part of Babylon the Great, so he gets a few things wrong (especially concerning what he refers to as “this beast system”). But regarding this aversion and conditioning by “this system of things” (2Cor 4:4) and its god and ruler(s), he has an interesting way of putting it (around 4:43, with the term “aversion” at 5:15). He also gives a nice demonstration how a person can be distracted from actual beneficial teaching of the truths in the Bible concerning these subjects and the real elite, if you will, by means of conspiracy entertainment, often riddled with the “false stories” mentioned at 2Tim 4:3,4 (although he doesn't point that out as such, but he demonstrates it at the start of the video, and later on towards the end he demonstrates that he's now taking his information from the teachings present in Babylon the Great, interspersed with occasional nuggets of beneficial teaching from the Bible).
