There's a few bad spots and some touristy areas but overall you'll love it. Close to jacksomville and Daytona Beach. Nice year round weather.

Agree.
We're not interested in living too near JV...but close enough to day visit and fly.
St; John's river area looks nice too...but not close enough to the ocean.

My husband lived in Florida for over 20 years. He would flip a coin
with one of his teenage children to see who would go outside and
start the car and the A/C. The reason was because the mosquitoes
could drain you dry while getting to your car.
Also, the state is being over run by snakes that get big enough to start
eating the alligators. Then, there are the alligators,do you really want
to go to Florida?

Please keep the crime level in mind...
When we lived in Florida we felt like the random crime was everywhere and not isolated to one area like
we were used to in the Midwest (Chicago/Milwaukee). We ended up moving back to the Midwest.

www.neighborhoodscout.com...

CRIME INDEX
10
(100 is safest)

Safer than 10% of U.S. Cities

Keep in mind that is on par with Detroit...

I'm cool with snakes...not so much with mosquitos.
They always seem to go after my wife...instead of me...probably because she's much sweeter.

BTW...Alligator is delicious.

Realtor has a crime-rating, noise level and flood zone map for the specific areas...we keep these all in mind when looking.

As an internet expert on Florida, I can safely say that it has golf courses.

Golf courses actually take up 85% of all of the state of Florida.

the remaining 15% is real estate, alligators and the Denny's franchise.
