Hey, you know, guys...the wife really is a Chef and I'm not too bad of a cook myself, BUT the reality of our lives is...

Most times we eat something which seems good, usually cheap, and probably not very healthy. Yes, every now and then we make some exotic stuff in our cool kitchen, but more often than not we just eat like normal malnourished Americans.

On this forum I've posted some of our highlights, but the reality is; we don't eat like that all the time. I'm sure some of you do, but we don't.

Just wanted to air that out.

Sorry for any perceptions otherwise.

Lol... to eat like you're food threads, you'd have to be pretty well off.

I take the easy route all the time.

So you are.... human?

~Gasp!~

I LOVE your cooking threads and they have given me a lot of inspiration in the kitchen.

I never thought for one moment that you and the Missus did that every day though...

You keep posting and I'll keep experimenting!

I never even thought that, hell I enjoy your recipes and ideas. LOL, I can eat 90% of them cause I'm on a restricted diet. But once that's over I gonna revisit a lot of them.

I like to eat really good food.

Most nights we have some form of protein sauteed in a pan because it's quick and then we have a bucket of vegetables that are cut up and left raw. You help yourself to those.

That's pretty much it ... unless it's leftovers.

The more elaborate stuff is confined to Sunday supper and special occasions.

I figured you were likely the same. Even chefs have their simple go-tos for standard eating.

We eat out a lot.
But I still enjoy your cooking threads.
I've always enjoyed checking out recipes.
I just don't like to cook, and like leftovers even more.

So keep them coming.

Yeah, I'm always down for a discussion on food and cooking and recipes. We don't practice all those techniques often, but ideas are always good. It's like the quilting circle getting together to talk patterns and cloth and stuff.

I eat an eighty percent good not highly processed diet and twenty percent junk food. My wife eats about fifty fifty because she tolerates junk food better than I do. It has always been that way in the thirty six years we have been married, I got liver and onions or fish and chips at the restaurant, she got spaghetti and lasagna or pizza. I did eat a cudighi when at the pizza place because it did not have tomatoes and I ate way more nuts and seeds than she did all of our marriage. Even my favorite candy is M&M Peanuts or peanut butter cups. She drinks a lot of soda, I drink about two sixteen bottles every month, mostly to digest bezoars. I just bought some digestive enzymes today to help to disolve plants, I have always had that problem but in the last five years after I turned sixty it became more of a problem. A simple glass of coke does wonders though, something I learned about two to three years ago, but I do not like the taste of Coke. So I will try the enzyme pills.

When I was working a lot and sweating things out I could eat a lot more foods I cannot metabolize well, but now I don't sweat it out anymore, maybe I should build a sauna on my trailer. One thing I did learn is that anything they call a super food, beware of it, either it takes away your energy or dopes you up....social control. A small amount of it is beneficial, just don't get carried away....and remember this, all food is psychoactive and it all moderates mood. You eat different if you are doing hard work than you should if you are chilling out with friends. If you are staying up late, eat foods that keep you awake, if you want to go sleep early, avoid those foods so you can get more and better sleep. Everything has a time and place.

I can relate. I eat like an anorexic teenager during the week.

I mixed powdered potatoes with a can of cream of chicken, a slice of cheese, and a can of tuna. Food for the day. The pinnacle of Epicurian delights. Wash it down with a fine malt-licky.

That’s why I look so amazing at 43. Lol. But I do! Now, I have gone a little coocoo when I drink without a lady present. I have been drinking hard kombucha. It’s O carb. O sugar.

4.5 to 7 %. It weirdly hydrates you as you get hammered.

The ginger one has an oak added to it and is a little bitter. 7% (130 calories). Not my favorite.

The grapefruit guy at 4.5% and is only 85 calories. It is quite pleasant. I like this one.

So naturally I killed the grapefruit first and moved over to the ginger.
