For some reason, this interview and revelations have been the most important thing in the world to Fox News over the past 48 hours....

I've been raising a few eyebrows as I read the media coverage of the interview... I've actually read more media reports than I saw of the actual interview! But yeah, it's curious to say the least how much import this interview is being given. And I'm very much getting the "create the problem, then create the solution" vibe now. Specifically, I don't get the talk about how this could destroy the Royal Family. Which makes me wonder just how much of this is completely contrived/fabricated for the purpose of taking down the Royal Family/Monarchy.

But why? The monarchy has very little political power. And what power the monarch does have can be easily overridden by the House of Lords. So I don't know why the Royal Family would be a political target.

I'm really starting to think there's more to this than even their harshest critics realize... I just can't figure out what that is.

Aye, it takes the heat off Prince Andrew somewhat, so there's that.

Are a load of Americans not somewhat fascinated with our Royals?

Hence the coverage i imagine.

As to the Queens response, she's 94, need to give her a moment or two i imagine, takes them a while at that age.

I doubt her whole story then.

I think you're in Britain? May I ask does Prince Andrew normally get a lot of media attention? Does it focus more on his day-to-day comings and goings? Or just on his depraved behavior and associations? I'm just wondering...

Doesn't the Queen/Buckingham Palace normally decline to comment on such things? I've had the impression that was much of Meghan's problem is that it was policy to ignore negative publicity, hence Meghan not feeling "protected". "Never complain, never explain." Have I got that wrong?

I certainly doubt she did not know how to use Google to see what the Royal family was all about before they became serious or got married considering there notoriety and infamy.

Well Paparazzi follow these people about for a career.

He's always got away with murder and been the Queens favourite, prince Andrew that is.

As to studying these peoples day to day coming's and goings, that will get you on a list, and possibly a knock at the door from somebody from GCHQ/MI6 or the like.

Some people follow the Royals about religiously, or they did in the past anyroad, i don't imagine all of the mad bastards have disappeared in to the wood work.

Queen don't say much lately aside from what she already has regarding the matter, shes 94 after all.

Meghan would have use believe that was the Royal HR rhetoric or so it seems, don't know as to the veracity if im honest.

I would say through these are not the type of people who tend to air there dirty laundry in public if the can help matters.

Classy response on the part of the Queen:

Queen breaks silence on Harry and Meghan: Palace says 'while some recollections may vary' the 'whole family is saddened' to hear of couple's 'challenging few years' - but allegations of racism will be addressed 'privately'

The statement said: 'The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.

'The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

'Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.'

Probably the best possible response under the circumstances.

Thank you -- that helps!

I'm really trying to understand the British perspective, not just my American perspective. We really have nothing here like the Royal Family to compare or form a frame of reference.

Watch "The Crown" Boadicea.

It's actually not half bad, very pretty, and quite true to history.

It will brush over some of the more controversial aspects surrounding the Windsor family and there ilk.

But its ok if you have the time.

Great period drama anyroad.

Thank you -- I've heard about this. I'll have to find out when and where to watch. I've been debating subscribing to the British channels package for a while now. I may just have to finally do it!

Just more drama for the Drama Media to shove down our throats.

And more Identity Politics to shove down our throats.

Congratulations on polluting ATS with this trash media.

Today, their focus is why Queen Elizabeth isn't responding to the bombshell revelations.

Never seen any of Oprah's stuff and don't intend on watching this but it is a major historical scoop and clearly going to backfire spectacularly on Megan.

The Royals are incredibly private and rarely engage with the press, this is informal chat show no different than Jerry Springer or Jeremy Kyle in the eyes of The Palace. When they do grant interviews they're usually carefully 'State/Firm managed and sanitised' events with the exception of the Prince Andrew interview.

The Palace had said last week they're ignoring the interview as Prince Phillip is in hospital after a heart transplant and it's a celebration of the Commonwealths efforts in creating and deploying Coronavirus vaccines this week.

The Queen wouldn't really comment on such things in normal times as it would be beneath the role of Head of State or any Royal to air dirty linen in public but she's certainly weaponised certain UK newspapers against Megan and the interview in the last week or two.

Here's an example of her husbands racism; he's an odd national treasure due to his habit of constantly making racist or deeply offensive comments unwittingly.

Prince Phillip warns UK student to leave China before he 'goes slitty eyed'

So it was Prince Andrew with that pre-puberty girl?

Thanks for correcting me. I thought it was the guy in the hospital.
