Not at all. My company is determined to use them and I've been through at least 50 people and only TWO are kinda worth interviewing. I'm already biased towards them though because if you want a job, you should be out looking, not making us look for you. Defeats the whole "You gotta get up off your lazy ass and find a job, son, because the job's not gonna find you!" pep talk my dad gave me back in my teens.

Companies in the real world are starting to do it. I've seen new restaurants, stores and other businesses opened in the last few years where they have no visible name, just some abstract symbol, no indication of what they sell or even what kind of business it is until you go inside. Most of the big banks here don't have names any more, just a logo and some letters, maybe.

I just really don't understand who thinks that kinda thing is a good idea.

I've seen places like Manpower. Some of these folks are kinda not legal. They're waiting daily for that landscaping job. Usually a guy pulls up in a truck outside said business and takes as many folks that will fit.

Some are looking for that permanent job through such agencies.

My father kinda gave me the same speech. You want that job, you call till they interview you. When I was much younger I worked 2 3 jobs till I finally got that dream job. And there is no shame in delivering pizza's .

Never quit, and don't get fired. Be the solution, not the problem.

I think the reason is simple. It's because of technology.

Technology and remote work and government assistance and basically the easy lifestyle we have today affords people more time to sit and think. Idle hands.

It's only going to get worse as modern technology evolves and provides even more idle time.

The problem is that it no longer requires any amount of time for someone to create the illusion that they deeply care. It's far too easy nowadays for people to pretend like they actually give a #*@%.

They can spend a few seconds posting a Tweet claiming to be offended by something, or a short video on Instagram that shows how outraged they are, etc. etc... and if they do it right, that brief statement can have a life of it's own, with others re-tweeting it, re-posting it, whatever...

Basically, the attention whores just don't have to work very hard anymore.

I did na-zi that logo being that way.
