Today I found out that Jeff Ritzmann has passed away. Artist extraordinaire, student of high strangeness and ATS member.

For those interested, old friends of Jeff on ATS or other, there will be a Zoom memorial this Sunday (link below). Plenty of discussion about Jeff on Twitter as well.

jayvay.wordpress.com...

As some of you may have heard, me ol’ pal and Paratopia partner, The Jeff, passed away yesterday. Likely, it was from cancer. If I start writing about this, I will end up with a book or my keyboard sizzling from tears, so instead? Let’s talk it out.

This Sunday at 3:33PM Eastern Time, please join Tyler Kokjohn, Tim Binnall, and me for a remembrance of Jeff Ritzmann. Bring your memories, share your stories, have a laugh through the tears. Nothing formal. Just all of us who can make it getting together on Zoom. Everyone’s invited.

RIP Jeff Ritzmann

I'm not familiar with his work but he was a ATSer, as you said. That's more important to me.

RIP Jeff. It's all good for you now brother.

This is extremely sad. For anyone not familiar with his work, check out his threads debunking Billy Meier's claims.

RIP Jeff

Jeff was a skilled photographic expert and his skills with using Photoshop as a forensic tool are legendary.

People from around the World would contact him and ask him to prove a UFO picture/video/film was real or a hoax.

ATS was fortunate enough to have him around for so many great topics, Gulf Breeze, Billy Meire, The Mexican Dayliter UFO, etc. He excelled at what he did and the community will be one less soldier on the quest to help unravel truth's concerning the UAP/UFO phenomena.

He also had a podcast/show called Paratopia with Jeremy Veani and the discussion never fit with the UFO Community so you were assured that the topic wasn't a 'cookie-cutter' subject... he liked to look into areas that others were missing. Those were the subjects he liked to discuss.

RIP Jeff

One of my favorite members, and his "Me and "Them" thread might be my favorite thread here.

He had been busy with other things, so hasn't been around herd for a while. I've missed his participation, and am very saddened to hear of his passing.

Ritzmann's material on Meier was the gold standard for debunking that hoax.

Because of what he provided in that case, I read and developed a deep appreciation for his posts here.
I'm not sure I ever corresponded with him, but the fact remains that the skeptical world has lost a giant.

RIP Jeff Ritzmann. You will be missed.

What made Jeff so special was that he was such a keen debunker precisely BECAUSE his own personal experiences inspired him to sort the helpful Wheat from useless Chaff.

To sort the snake-oil from the genuine medicine. (For example, I doubt very much that he'd have much truck with the whole TTSA/Bigelow/Lazar circus currently doing the rounds in Ufology.)

His own ATS thread about his personal interaction with High Strangeness (or what most would term "aliens") is not only an exceptionally well-written account, but a compulsive read and often highly disturbing, too...

www.abovetopsecret.com...

His conclusions from all those years ago ring as loudly and importantly today as they always did:

I don't know what "they" are. However I feel confident enough to say that it's far greater reaching and of deeper complexity than extraterrestrials. There are definitive connections to other "paranormal" events, and many aspects of this seem to fit into quantum theory.

Indeed, Jeff. Indeed.

RIP. Condolences to his family and close friends.

Just attended the virtual memorial. Heard some great stories including one about Jeff Creating Artwork for George Lucas and George is over his shoulder making suggestions to it. Other stories were from Actors and his work with Lodge-49.

Such a gifted, creative and kind soul that the World lost waaay too soon.

Jeremy Vaeni who was Jeff's partner on Paratopia for many years, he hosted the Virtual Memorial. (Small back-history, Jeremy and I back in 2004-05 were trying to get permission to camp a few nights at the SkinWalker Ranch. This is while I was investigating Marc Olson's ongoing UFO's in Sonora Calif).

He shared a story (with his wife) about how Jeff and Jeremy had both agreed that whomever died first would try to pass a message even if it was just morse code that 'they' had made it over to the otherside.

On the evening of Jeff's passing Lights (that were shut off by his wife) came on, other lights were flickering.. like Morse Code. Both Jeremy and his wife thought this was odd. The following day they learn of his passing was at around the time of the flickering lights.

Anyway cool stories and it was neat to see how many people were moved by him and his work.

Hopefully his adventures now will be more rewarding as he doesn't have the constraints of a human body any more.

Just a slight correction. Maybe I said it wrong, but I didn't mean to imply Jeff and I said we'd use morse code. I was just saying that the light flickering was as deliberate as morse code. In any event, thanks for attending. For those of you who missed it, here's Jeff's remembrance....
