If identical twin sister married identical twin brothers, and had kids.
Their kids would be cousins, but genetically SIBLINGS....!
How weird right?

www.livescience.com...

The double Deane-Salyers weddings raise a question: If one set of identical twins marries another set of identical twins, how genetically similar would their children be?

"In theory, we would expect their children to be genetically as similar as full siblings are to each other," said Laura Almasy, a professor of genetics at the University of Pennsylvania. Siblings born to the same set of parents share about half their genes with one another.

Ha. I'm an identical twin. We have the same DNA. Identical twins are considered clones.

Some people have this notion that clones would act alike and think alike, but this is furthest from the truth. Each individual is their own entity with their own thoughts and their own actions and thus their own consequences. Clones are their own unique individuals with their own unique lives.

Can you and your twin talk by just looking at each other? I knew twins that did that.

My mother married my father.
My father married my mother.
My mother's brother married my father's sister.
My father's sister married my mother's brother.
(In other words, two sets of brother and sister married, I made it overly complicated)

That is about as close to being brothers and sisters, we are called, "double cousins"...

We all look alike, and of course, we're all white supremacists.

No. My mom said that we developed our own babble when we were infants. Said we would babble to each other and it seemed we knew exactly what the other was saying. She also said when one of us would get sick she'd have to treat both of us because the other would show sympathy symptoms even if not sick. So she would never no which one of us was sick.

There have been big events in our lives that we have had feelings in the gut of something happening to the other. At the moment we weren't aware of the meaning of the feeling, but after events were revealed and thinking back on it it sure seemed like a big coincidence. Sometimes just a really bad gut feeling something was wrong and having no idea why. You ever get that? My mom got that the night her dad died of a heart attack and he was all the way across the country.

There was this one time I stumbled in the mountains on a camping trip hiking back from the peak of a mountain top and broke my head open and busted my cheek bone to pieces. At the same exact time my twin brother was on a construction site and stumbled carrying a supply of rebar with another worker, and said narrowly avoided probably killing someone with it.

Not only can they do that but I bet if you punch one the other feels it.

We should test this theory.

Yup, I knew something happened to my sister, and she was in an auto accident.

I find this subject fascinating! In my youth, I recall reading a book that detailed multiple examples of this kind of empathy, not only between twins, but anyone with a strong tie to someone else, even if not genetically related. I wish I could remember the name of the damn book.

My mom knew when we were all pregnant before we knew. She even called and asked me and I said no, took a test and it was a YES!

I always enjoyed when siblings played guess the twin in school. It was always usually pretty easy to fool the teachers. But the game was trying to fool us classmates when they switched classes or on covered for the other. Of course we couldna be all extra about it. Do your friend a favor and just play along.
