They got the Trump/McCarthy phone call entered, undisputed, into the record.
“When McCarthy finally reached the president on January 6 and asked him to publicly and forcefully call off the riot, the president initially repeated the falsehood that it was antifa that had breached the Capitol," Herrera Beutler said in her statement.
"McCarthy refuted that and told the president that these were Trump supporters. That’s when, according to McCarthy, the president said: ‘Well, Kevin, I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are,'" the statement added.

Did Nancy Pelosi personally reject having the National Guard on standby for Jan 6th? Didn't Mitch McConnel share equal security responsivities with the Speaker?
Neither one has any say, the Capitol Police are directed by a board consisting of the Sergeant at Arms of the United States House of Representatives, the Sergeant at Arms of the United States Senate, and the Architect of the Capitol.

Well, that was shortlived.
The Senate, the Defense and the House Impeachment officers have agreed to forego witnesses as long as testimony of Trump's conversation with Leader McCarthy is allowed into the record.
Closing arguments are now ongoing.

Pelosi was not in fear for her life because she knew what was going to happen as it was preplanned by the Dems hence no order for the security services to fight to keep them out. She knew the plan ,how far they would go and their instructions on what to do and that included no life threatening situations for any politician.

Totally predictable.
Nevertheless, the process and the transcript will be examined by historians for decades, perhaps centuries should the USA be so lucky.
