Couldn't have said it better myself.
It's telling when most Anarchists start going on the offensive and trying to ostracize and purge anyone who is an individualist or simply disagrees
with their calls to democracy.
As far as what is going on in the US I highly suggest that people learn the differences between Liberalism and Neo-Liberalism; What American
Conservatism stems from, and similarly where Libertarianism stems from.
Also as far as the Neo- prefix goes it would probably shock some people to discover that Neo-Conservatism and Neo-Liberalism overlap in many instances
and differing in ways that would leave many "conservatives" scratching their heads.
Personal anecdote I do find it peculiarly amusing when I get called far-right or alt-right when, if I had to, place myself with the post-left
anarchists.
It's frustrating interacting with Anarcho-Communists and Anarcho-Socialists, because as much as they claim to be against the state and for the people
they invariably end up making the case for being statists. They just don't want to admit that they want to usurp the current state and supplant it
with their own. As soon as they have an authority in power of their choosing they will cease to be Anarchists.
As far as corporatism goes the left is being lead on. When I was taking part in the initial planning stages of OWS the mission was simple. To call out
corporations and the state(government) that protected them and raise awareness that corporatism isn't in the best interest of the people.
But lo and behold those who felt marginalized wanted to take part. I voiced my apparently unpopular opinion that it would distract from the mission.
That our mission would become incoherent. But nope.
At that point I had already began to realize that many of the more influential members were "disappearing" and being replaced by people who oddly
enough seemed to be pursuing the money from sponsors of the very corporations we were supposed to be against. I quickly saw that the mission was a
failure before it even left the planning stages.
As I watched the it unfold I felt anger. The way OWS became less about corporatism and more a shouting match about who had been victimized the most.
As I saw the amount of trash piling up the more the environmentalist in me seethed at the hypocrisy.
I left. I destroyed my means of communication. I cut ties with every movement I was a part of including Peaceful Uprising, Rising Tide, and Adbusters.
I dismantled the chapters that I operated.
A decade later I can only watch and see how everything I used to be so zealous about has continued being coopted by the very institutions we were
supposed to be against and the people more interested in drunken/stoned psuedo-philosophical meme wars.
