Id say the latter is the primary objective, by far, but they both work towards the same end. Its a bit impressive how bold some of it is though. At the very least, I would think they have a very high degree of confidence in their control of information, rather than desperation. I would also assume they have confidence in the force they are able to apply should portions of the population respond to the provocation "traditonally."

As long as people continue to cheer on the seeds of manipulation, or get increasingly mindlessly angry.. "Losing" to the Monolith is little more than a formality.

The goal is absolute control of all resources (people and information are resources too). This is mostly accomplished through technology that is inevitable and already in existence. Meaning, as long as most either accept or reject their paradigm without actually designing & deploying alternatives that arent corporate-political or susceptible to exploitation, it all works in the Monolith's favor.

As long as folks are still playing politics, and fighting each-other due to imposed paradigms like 'left/right', 'liberal/conservative', choosing our favorite puppets, 'good-guys vs bad-guys', etc... : we are missing the puppet-master, and master of distraction.

Even the boot stomping us, is but an appendage of that which drives the boot.

That unrelenting, never-tiring, continuous pressure, that just wears most of us down, eventually.
Just symptoms, and barely glimpses, maybe, of something, but never quite that Monolith™.
Maybe not glimpses, as they're not just behind a curtain, like in The Wizard of OZ™.
They hide in the darkest of the dark unseen shadows.

Well....different times. Back then a corporate charter was a prized possession. Today you can get one for a few hundred bucks.

And back then an entire continent was seen as uninhabited. Today new property is created virtually. We are typing on virtual real estate.
