When I first found out I freaked out, like completely freaked out.
We are talking pity party city!

I have since calmed down and feel pretty good about things as weird as that sounds.
My tumor is not cancerous and appears to be degenerating or have degenerated.
My condition is also one that is actually listed as "Curable". That sure
isn't something you see too much in medical literature. Yes there is still a very scary aspect to it, but I refuse to have
anything but positive thoughts. The main one being I am so glad to be alive in this time of medical advances!!!

They believe a lot of people have brain tumors but don't know it because a lot of them cause no problems. Seriously, like 1/3 of people!
They find these small tumors on people during autopsies. There are probably a lot of people that have them that are causing problems but they
don't know it because they don't test it.

Not to get political, but I have to...
On the flip side I can honestly say my beliefs in private health care has never been stronger.
I have read TOO many accounts of people in Canada and UK that have this condition that can barely get
a MRI, or are waiting months, or in some cases YEARS for proper treatment.
I understand I am very fortunate that I have great health insurance and funds to cover remaining costs, and that isn't available to everyone in the US.
I know for a fact Universal Healthcare isn't the answer. I know it is not the answer because it is still not efficient or good enough to really treat
people with serious conditions. I really wish if we were to fix something, it would be insurance and the cost. That's the answer...

I think the word brain tumor sounds very scary, but in reality something like pancreatic cancer is 100X worse.

Thank you, I think positive thinking is a cure in itself.

When I first found out, it was terrible, of course it's human to think of all the bad scenarios first.
It sounds shocking doesn't it, brain tumor...

Thank God, reality is quite different. The type of tumor I have is curable, and treatable.

Sorry to hear this, but glad it’s okay.

I know it doesn’t always catch it, but regular eye checks are always a good thing.

I hate to hear the bad news... but I'm happy to hear the good news. I'm especially happy to hear you're handling this with a positive outlook. That always helps!

Take good care of yourself, do what you gotta do for yourself, and we're rooting for you.

Tumors are constantly forming in people, but once triggered, the body fights them and destroys them. It is cancer if it has rapid growth, it is a tumor if it is just slowly growing. Some food chemistries actually stimulate apoptosis of cells in tumors and some stimulate autophagy. If it is in the brain, it is protected somewhat by the blood brain barrier and the brain has a somewhat separate immune system from the body's immune system because of that barrier. If it is shrinking it is good. Hopefully it all disappears and never comes back again.

I wonder what kind of cells are growing in there, did they tell you what kind of tumor it is? Is it cells that do not belong in the brain, or is it braintissue that is balling up in the wrong spot?

Hi Jag,
I am sorry you have to deal with this but glad that you've been able to put it in perspective and keep your spirits light about it!

Would you mind sharing how you happened to realize 'something' was wrong and the process toward getting diagnosed?
I'll add you to my prayers

Also, I agree with everything you wrote about healthcare!

It is a microadenoma
Have not been told if it is functioning or non functioning yet
They suspected Cushings, half my test are abnormal half are normal. I also do not look like a Cushings patient, (I am small and lightweight) Thank God my Dr. did not go by looks alone and goes by testing.

There are cases where these adenomas just disappear and medical science does not understand why.
They are currently studying it.
