There's debate over whether Trump could, in fact, pardon himself but I saw a report this morning that said he has no plans to pardon himself or family members.

I don't think he can pardon himself.

Too late to do it now.

Who's debating that?

As far as I know, that has never happened with a POTUS....

Have to go against the grain on this one.

Should Snowden be pardoned?

Absolutely NOT....

Should Snowden face a firing squad?

Absolutely.

People have short memories and forget that what Snowden revealed was only a tiny part of what he took. He took information to sell to China or Russia, who ever made the best deal.

He is a traitor, plain and simple. You can adore him for exposing what he exposed, but what happened to the other 99% of classified information he took?

Pardon Julian Assange and Edward Snowden, Mr Trump.

Exposing the secrets and lies of government is a service, not a crime.

Honestly don't get this...

If he done it I would give him full credit for it and I really don't believe that Biden has the balls for it

He is willing to pardon his political cronies like Rodger Stone, yet he refuses to pardon the likes of Snowden who has taken steps to protect people by exposing government overreach. Yet as it stands it looks more likely that Trump will pardon Joe Exotic (no, am not joking) rather than Snowden and other government whistleblowers who exposed years of Bush/Obama abuse of power and lost their liberty for it.

But no Donald...just pardon the "Dirty Trickster of Washington" and the tiger king.

I think it shows that there are other powerful people who have influence that Trump must also appease...

It's been discussed but can't remember where I saw it, it was a few weeks ago.

Haven't seen the discussion, but I researched it before.

AM or someone would know for sure....

I am undecided on someone like Snowden.

I do not know the full facts.

And I’m not going to romanticize it.

Can he not pardon pretty much anyone?

Anyone convicted of a federal crime. Bill Clinton pardoned and commuted the prison sentences of 120 people on his last day.

Trump wouldn't pardon those two. Neither of them committed crimes for him.
