This website seems to be consumed with national politics. It's either the elections or the aftermath.

What non-political event has happened in your town that you would like to share with us?

Something good, something bad, something weird (Please, please be something weird).

Anything that we can discuss that isn't about politics.

People have been couped up for a year now, you would
think a few good conspiracies would have emerged.

One I can think of is COVID 19 but the topic is basically
relegated to the ministry of truth now.

Ancient Aliens are now deemed racist.
Lizard people ideas are now also deemed racist.

Whats left? UFO and Bigfoot.

By the way...I hear about Bigfoot that....

The never say die power of small business. Here in my area there was a small breakfast nook. She stuggled along for years, dishing out good food and laughter. People would move over in their chairs to make room for others coming in behind them and making new friends along the way.
The hostess knew your ''usual'' after two visits and coffee was free if you guessed the daily question written in chalk on the chalk board.

Then for some reason, her kind of isolated location got a boost when the state built a bridge across the river from the interstate giving people much easier access to her place. She was always crowded

But then, a peck down the road another small eating place opened up and served better food at a better price and offered larger portions. As our area is not all that wealthy that was a huge draw.

When covid hit, our old gal who had been losing business to the new folks for a couple of years decided not to open up again. It was time for her to go as she had been getting more and more tired as the last few years passed by.

Her old shop was vacant for six months.

But now someone else has decided to give that location a try and is opening a Cajun Breakfast nook in the face of covid and the shop down the road. What a gamble huh? But still it demonstrates the will of some people to keep trying.

We'll give em a couple of tries.

Let's see ... the Chiefs are going to play the Browns tomorrow. That's all over the local news.

And everyone is excited because bars and restaurants can now stay open until midnight once again after the mayor convinced a bunch of surrounding leaders to impose a 10pm curfew mid-November. Those surrounding officials have slowly been breaking, and the pressure has finally eroded the last holdouts.

Kiddo's tournament schedule is finally going to start rocking again. He's got actual real tournaments coming in February and again in April. It's been a full year since the last.

Bigfoot stepped up to the plate ...

m.imdb.com...

Advanced AI robots have drained the Earth of its natural resources. A rebel human alliance in space with no planet to call home, calls on Bigfoot to do battle with humanity's greatest enemies, the Illuminati.

Koalas may be unbearably cute, but they're not cuddly as they look

How far would you go to get away from someone you're not interested in?

Would you climb out to the ends of a tree branch 15 metres above the ground in the hope that your suitor would not dare follow?

That's what one female koala on the far north coast of New South Wales did after a night of being pursued by a male koala in a hoop pine tree.

There she stayed, clinging upside down, for about an hour, says Jo Immig, who witnessed the drama unfold in her backyard — complete with deep growling snorts from the male and high-pitched squeals from the female.

This is like breaking news over here in Australia.

Eventually the male gave up and fell asleep and the female made her escape.

Screech has stage 4 cancer.

For anyone who used to watch Saved by the Bell, I saw this news yesterday. I'm guessing not many here did (my sister used to) because this one didn't get popped up anywhere yet.

So Screech looks to be living his last days.

At least mine is dealing with local politics.

They are in a rush to suburbanize our little rural community. So the battle of the roads are on. The problem is that no matter who wins, we lose. Local or national, the government is always going to go for the money, and the citizenry will always draw the short straw.

Well I would hope so... because content has been extremely lacking lately!

Still waiting like patience on a monument for season 6 of better call Saul!

Siegfried died, now both he and Roy are gone.

Can't go skiing up at Lee Canyon as it's all rocks. We've had maybe an inch of rain in the last two hundred or so days, it's really pathetic this weather so hence, no snow.

Saw a blimp shot of the LV Strip during Thursday's hockey game and the Strip seems to be doing ok. Good to see people back after the casinos were shut down last year.

Most of the ones that I've heard seem to be recycled versions of old conspiracies.

5G seems to be the new Chemtrails. Most of the same things are being said, most of the same people are said to be behind it. Yadda yadda yadda. Wash, rinse, repeat.

I notice that Facebook and Twitter are going after "right Wing" conspiracies, but don't seem to even acknowledge the existence of the left wing ones.

Round where I live they're doing something similar. They're building a LOT of these really tiny low cost houses with barely enough yard to put a swingset in, and no parking to speak off. The roads are incredibly narrow and people are forced to park in them as they don't have enough space on their front yards for two vehicles, so it's a struggle to pass anybody. Plus the water infrastructure can just about cope and they're now building on land that floods real bad so that's a problem for the future. They had to put in a pumping station to keep some of the land drained, and if there's ever a power failure caused by a flood then those neighborhoods will be in trouble.

Oh, chemtrails! Forgot about that one too.

Ok, I'll bite. The last four years have been marvelous, clear
skies, no geoengineering in my area. I have cherished the
time outdoors, and am very sad and upset to see that the
incoming installation of Bejing Joe will immediately reverse
course on this and put the U.S. back in the Paris Climate Accord.

If that has happened here somebody would have demanded that the government launch a committee to investigate toxic masculinity among marsupials. It would probably have gotten more funding than their effort to find out why male illiteracy was so high.
