Are Black Americans Above Mexican/Latino?

I would never aim to deny what history tells us about events in the past. Some argue and seek to change what we know, that is a different thread to argue.

I had this thought because the waves of recent news shows that there seems to be imbalance for lack of better explanation.
When all of this stuff started happening with youtube channels getting blocked. I decided to try and stay logged out of google accounts and such so that I could try to get an unfiltered browsing experience.

It only takes a few minutes to realize there is a gross over saturation of black leaning black voiced news outlets. A rare few you might come across might have some black conservative angles, or maybe its just sports and hollywood content.

I'm sure someone might say look "a white guy complaining all he sees on the web and tv is blacks."
I came to realize, why don't you see some of these websites that are Latino world supportive?
I'm just tryng to bring this up because in urban areas you do see alot of african american converting to islam. Its also starting to be realized that big media we have all trusted for our whole lives is really treacherous.

Remember 911? Who coined that term? Does it have meaning today?


This does sound pretty bad, but its just an observation nobody will mention. I dont think it is black americans. its JUST the media starting the race war. I love all races.

Ask the black American convict who watches the illegal Latino get released from jail while he gets stuck there what he thinks of that question.

AS far as I am concerned, all American citizens have equal rights, no matter what color they are. People do have inalienable rights if they are not citizens, but the illegal aliens do not have our American citizen rights, nor do they have the responsibility or right to vote in elections. Those who are resident aliens, working toward citizenship should have near citizen rights. It should be cheaper to get citizenship for good people who are trying to get in.

The only people whom I feel we should give more to is the American Indian, and some of the hispanics who's tribes originated here and were forced out should be able to get into the USA cheaper if they pass vetting to make sure they are not going to be a problem. We have enough bad people in America already, importing more of the dishonest ones is not wise.

Americans should be Americans.

The OP's noted preponderance of Afrocentric entertainment, etc., may be due to the demand from blacks. If American Latinos are less demanding of "their own" entertainments, then they won't be as apparent despite the relatively larger percentage of them in the population.

Now I do notice a much larger selection of Latino foods and ingredients in the grocery stores over stuff that's specifically thought of as more soul food oriented, but I may live too much on a border region, not far enough South.

I think what we're seeing is that Black people are the "victims" du jour so to speak for political critters and media. It wasn't that long ago that the (illegal) Hispanic media and Hispanics' activist groups-- for example, La Raza, Aztlan, Univision, Telemundo, etc., -- were getting the attention.

If the political critters and media critters could better exploit Hispanics in today's environment, they would be.

I am really not big on OTA TV. I do like movies, and I have been known to binge watch a popular series or two when on call.

I have found that each medium has its own method for brainwashing us. I notice a large number of interracial and homosexual couples in modern shows and commercials. They have reported that the interracial residents of this planet will soon be the largest group, though I think if we were honest with ourselves, we would recognize we are all interracial, just that there are more brown races joining in the mix. So, I guess it is a case of art imitating life.

Commercials were created for one purpose, to separate you from your money. They have been insanely successful, and they evolved in the process.

pretty sure most news outlets are white Democrat leaning not black oriented, one is black focused and it started in 2020....

I could go into a whole thing on not using Latino because that is a European, and how before colonization this land was one, no borders, no North or South, and it included Canada, and the Erasure of Indigenous Mexican Tribes and all the Central and south American Tribes and how they are as Native to this continent as what you call Native Americans

this is something I know a lot about, from experience

but, yes, you could say that "Mexicans" and Native people are murdered more by police, and treated the worst even though further erased and looked over as far as "Racial Activism"

especially with the Afrocentrists, "Hoteps" and Black Nationalists

There's plenty of Latino radio stations on AM naturally.
A good many pirate radio stations as well.
Yes, even a cable channel en Espanol.
But demographically there is indeed some over-representation going on.
It has this fawning feel to it all like we have to reach some visual quotas.

Could it possibly be by some remote chance that latinos commit the second highest amount of crimes? Could that be why a lot of them get shot?
Remember, they are only 18% of the US population.

I'm not even talking about people trying to come to the country now. Just the people that have been here maybe generations. Why aren't they represented as strongly on popular news.

Maybe it's just that Latinos are too busy working ... for their own Entertainment Channels to be profitable. Entertainment Channels are quite the distraction. Radio ... not so much.

Think about it. White dudes are at work all day. How many white dudes are actually interested in daytime drama TV.

Maybe it is regional. I see other races represented, and the Whites are still the majority where I live, and in America as a whole.

So if you are seeing an overwhelming, and what you feel may be an unfair representation of Blacks, then it is likely where you live.

African American representation on tv is more widespread. There was just BET decades ago, local stations. Now it's more of a melting pot representation. More integrated I guess.

Black people in America aren't Africans. They need their reality-world interests addressed on the boob-tube locally.

My wife's from Korea. She will always relate with her Korean heritage. There aren't any TV channels broadcasting what she wants to see, so she resorts to streaming from the source. I don't know how many channels she has access to, but it's enough to keep her satisfied. Geez that brings back some bad memories ... like phone calls that exceeded many $/min to and from there.

Latinos passed Blacks for the first time last year, when it came to the number of registered voters.
