I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that this will be just more of the same of the last what, 70 years? That is, no real info. Just people saying they’re going to study it and ooooooo maybe they will let us in on some of the secrets this time!!!

George Knapp lost ALL of his credibility (to those with working brains) when he buddied up to the TTSA folks. Knapp is part of the show.

And Mr. Springer, it appears you are part of the show as well. 👎🏼

Interesting take. So who is the “real” expert on the matter in your opinion. I see you’re canceling out a big name because of some affiliations he has that you disagree with. So who would you say is a trustworthy expert on the matter.

Errr.. Let me give you a bit of a reality check here.

There is a huge difference between being a journalist attempting to get to some form of truth (Caveat: The subject matter), and some one that your Pals with.

As an amateur Researcher and Investigative Journalist, I have been thrust to interview and research a number of people that I would've deemed Toxic and unreliable. But my job was to conduct and research what was necessary, so sometimes I had to be quite close to these folks. Did I enjoy it, NO, did I do it, YES because that's the job.

If your going to get half-cocked and start aiming hate towards a true friend of ATS.... thats your prerogative. I wish you much success in finding someone else with the Journalistic abilities and integrity, backed by three Peabody Awards and a bevy of other Honors and Awards. And without George Knapp we'd not have found out about AREA-51 and made into a household subject. We'd not have a better understanding of the research Dave Paulides has done because George took an journalistic interest in the disappearances. Oh wait a second, ever heard of the Sherman Ranch (better known as the SkinWalker Ranch), yep that was shared publicly with George's help.

George Knapp

In 2004, Knapp won a national Edward R. Murrow Award for a story about vote fraud in Clark County, Nevada.[4] He has also won dozens of Pacific Southwest Regional Emmy Awards,[3] and several writing awards from the Associated Press.[4]

Knapp and photojournalist Matt Adams were recognized for their work on the investigative series Crossfire: Water, Power, and Politics that received a 2008 Peabody Award.

I could go on and on, but wait a second, you also were slamming my friend and Boss Springer? Oh what a sad day, I'm surprised you stick around here with such undesirables. Oh the disdain you must have to endure... endure in this den of iniquity, how your heart must break to continue coming back here.

So sorry to hear your not happy here, or happy with the friends ATS has developed. I can't wait to hear who you suggest as a journalistic replacement.

Johnny

Aiming hate???? Get over yourself, “journalist.” My comment had zero hate in it. All I did was state my opinion, which is that George Knapp jumped the shark. I’m aware of his very long career.

I didn’t ask you to give me a “reality check” (which, I noticed, was you talking about you; does someone need some extra validation today?), nor is it your responsibility to determine if I need one.

Get over yourself and learn to deal with someone having a different opinion than you. Different opinions are ok! No one is threatened by my opinion but you, it seems.

And I don’t know who you think I was throwing hate at, but give them some credit, whoever they are- I am sure that if they are offended or damaged by my opinion, they have big enough balls to address me directly about it.

I’m not sure ANY of the “experts” in the UFO world are trustworthy. Look at it: it has been for 70 years, and continues to be, a big game of smoke and mirrors. Carrots on sticks over and over again. The faces change, the book titles change, the tv series’ titles change, but it’s all the same stuff recycled; any new stuff has been carrots on a stick with HUGE problems; see any thread on TTSA and the “Go Fast” etc videos, for example.

Has there been ANYTHING groundbreaking in the past two decades? Anything at all?

But back to the “experts-“ everyone should at least raise one eyebrow at this constant, throughout UFO world’s history: the involving of the US’s intelligence agencies. And further, the same names for the past thirty or so years, and they are considered by some as “experts.” Why would anyone trust someone who has worked for the intelligence community for 50 years? Their job is to deceive.

On George Knapp- I’m not canceling him out only because he associates with TTSA. He clearly changed some things when he started working with them- I started noticing something different about Knapp when he first started interviewing goofy Tom Delonge several years ago. And he’s not just “associating” with them- he is IN it with them.

TLDR- There aren’t any real experts.

Who do you trust in the field? What do you think has been going on the past few years?

There is no doubting George Knapp's journalistic integrity. His non-UFO work is admirable, and his initial interviews with Bob Lazar in 1989 were enthralling and arguably groundbreaking, even if decades later, suspicions began to spread about the integrity of Lazar's best mate John Lear who IIRC was Knapp's first point of contact about the story. What was once an exciting 'revelation' has, for some, dribbled to a rather lame hoax; perhaps Lazar was trying to trump Lear's own extravagant UFO claims for a giggle (despite Lazar's declared reluctance to be in the public eye). Nevertheless, Knapp acted as a brilliant 'referee' during that saga, even going to the lengths of calling the cops when Lazar's dubious brothel antics were exposed.

I'm surprised, though, that George still supports Lazar's tale, especially in light of Jeremy Corbell's recent documentary that presented a lorry-load of problems, flaws and suspicions, not the least the 'framing' and true circumstances of the FBI raid. Knapp had a prominent role in the film, but I also suspect that this also was out of respect for Bob himself after such a lonnnnng winding history between them; after all, Lazar put Knapp on the world map.

Knapp was friendly with Corbell (who calls him his mentor) some years before the Lazar documentary, having also participated in his 'Hunt For The Skinwalker' (2018) documentary (13 years after Knapp and Kelleher's 2005 infamous book), which was trailed on ATS with great enthusiasm by Springer, but understandably so. Jeremy and George are good friends of his, and although the final film was considerably underwhelming in terms of actual evidence (but otherwise an excellent summary of the entire Skinwalker saga thus far), I have little doubt that Springer believes that a strange force is at work at the ranch... unfortunately it seems to be comparatively inactive since its heyday in the late-1990s/early-2000s. If indeed the original stories were ever true, but it was a GREAT story, whatever the reality behind it.

Not only was Knapp friends with Corbell, but also Tom Delonge some three years before the 'To The Stars Academy' came to fruition...

Now, the question of whether George is too close to these people (I don't mean Springer) is a good question. Is he maintaining that all-important objectivity that you yourself adhered to when meeting these folks? Is George in danger of becoming that most dubious of labels, a "UFOtainer"? Is George being objective enough to realise whether he is being objective enough?

Maybe he will take a few steps back from the personnel and re-concentrate on the overall phenomenon itself. In any case, generally he is indeed a GREAT and extremely likeable journalist, arguably the ONLY one of such stature within ufology.

I can tell you that George Knapp is a genuine journalist, of the highest calibre and, YES, he still has his innate objectivity.

I'll also ad he was NEVER "in with" TTSA, just like I never was.
Did we hold out hope and mention them?
Of course we did, that's all.
sigh...

Here's an idea...

How's about YOU go out there and try to figure this out like George, Jeremy, and I have?
I'll NEVER say we did figure it out, but I will say we have spent our own time, energy, and money TRYING to.

I'd also add that George and Jeremy have caused the US government to release to FLIR data and videos along with the discovery that USG really was spending our (tax payers) money on trying to figure out what the heck these things are...

So before you cast stones, maybe you should do a little research into who you're talking about.

Pretty much every stone you cast is false. I know you won't take that to heart, and frankly I don't give a damn. :-)

I don't think that anyone is questioning his ability as a journalist "beyond" ufology, in fact I don't think that many were even questioning that all too much before the TTSA thing. It is my understanding that it was more that Mr Knapp wasn't applying all that ability to the TTSA bunch, he wasn't asking the "right" or the "hard" questions. Perhaps?

I think it is more a frustration to see someone that you admire as being the guy who asks the tough questions appear to roll over and have his tummy tickled rather than doing his job. Maybe?

You cannot figure it out because you don’t have even a basic grasp of what it is you’re trying to figure. It would be like an ancient Egyptian trying to understand an iPad - probably a lot worse actually.

You still don’t know if these things are real in a physical sense or metaphysical. You don’t know anything about them at all, unless you have access to information regarding recovered craft. I doubt that.

IF craft have crashed here then that tells you something very important. Either these ‘aliens’ are not as advanced as people think or they are in serious decline and can no longer maintain their equipment.

If they’re not as advanced then they haven’t come from outside of this solar system. Their are very vague pieces of information to suggest an alien presence pre-existing humanity in our solar system.

The other option is that they exist pretty much outside of our time, space and physics, and yet they can come and go at their leisure. Would they even be able to manifest physical form? Would they need to? Would they even need craft to move around in?

Any of what I have said could be true, might be accurate or more likely miles off the mark, because nobody knows and those trying to make a living and career out of pretending to know things or having ‘information’ are fairly pitiful. We just don’t know. Likely we will never know, until whoever and whatever it/they are decide to tell/show us.

Great post Springer but I can’t imagine any earth shattering news to come from the report. It a UFO landed in Washington in front of the Biden inauguration they would say it was swap gas or Saturn.

The following is just my personal opinion:

RE: An Alien Craft landing on the lawn during the Biden inauguration:

Whenever that many politicians are gathered in one small area it would HAVE TO BE Swamp Gas or just plain old HOT AIR!

Kinda going with KG here. I respect Knapp and the awards, achievements and accolades he's earned but let's face it, that Peabody's not going to put food on his table.

Very entertaining however and I truly enjoy the subject matter
