I think it was poor training and a poor decision on the officers part. Trigger happy would be an understatement. Firing into crowd like he did was irresponsible at best. He could’ve just as easily hit a cop or anyone else he wasn’t aiming for. It was a stupid move on his part, regardless of threat perceived.

He could’ve just pushed her back out the window or grabbed her when she fell through and incapacitated her in seconds.

A bad decision he’ll have to live with forever.

And I asked you to cite policy that proves my opinion from experience and falling under the DOD as guided by the DOJ is in error.

Asking me to google things for your opinion is a) not a burden of proof that falls on me since you won’t cite any policy, period and b) irrelevant, since your opinion has nothing to do with a shooting by law enforcement in the US Capitol.

Correct me if I am wrong. Most of the time soldiers shooting unarmed civilians is usually a crime and called a massacre.

Purple, because aliens don’t wear hats. I hope you find my answer as irrelevant as your comment is. I see now you’ve combined logical fallacies with irrelevant comments in an attempt to muddy the discussion. That’s adorable and all but I’m not interested. Cite your sources that have been asked for multiple times on multiple subjects or move along. Or keep commenting so you feel like you’ve won when you get no further engagement, I don’t really care.

i blame these two guys devoid of any maga, trump, usa paraphernalia.
the one with glasses was smashing the doors and broke the windows with something heavy and hard wrapped in fabric then they stood back.

Dude, they were busting into the capital in a mob type style. I see no difference here to the dimwits in Portland.

Ultimately it hurt the cause, not helped it.

Peeps need to start recall efforts like Cali is doing to Newsome.

I agree but...shoot to kill..?

No warning shot, no shot in the leg, no taser, no PEPPER SPRAY....she is "lucky" that this a-hole officer didn't shoot her face off so her family couldn't identify her.

If you wish to attempt to educate anyone little bit.

You might manage a paragraph or two.

That word salads kind of hard on the old skyballs.

At least that's my ""unqualified"", relevant as you like, opinion.
x

I held your hand for you, but it was still too much. This doesn't require more than one paragraph. It really is this simple. Poor thing. Those who wish not to listen learn nothing despite one's best efforts... little bit.

How would the guards know she wasn’t carrying a grenade or pipe bomb?

No such thing as a warning shot, massively outnumbered facing god knows what, doors barricaded first one through gets slotted.

Next 50 get slotted until they are out of bullets or backup arrives.

None story.

Has anyone brought up the possibility that maybe people got in so easily... And maybe the security backed off on the protestors side of the door... Or were more relaxed. .

Because a majority of law enforcement themselves are Trump supporters and didn't want to enforce too hard on Maga Nation because they wished they could be right next to them?

However on the other side of the door there was a normal.. non-maga indoctrinated cop who shot because the hall of the senate was being breached by seditionists and he had to protect the politicians on the other side?

I perish to think what you are doing with the other dirty little paw.

Paragraphs are important, ask your teacher when school reopens.

Your ""best efforts"" just like your basic understanding of English, is pathetic. x

Very sparse police. I like the who comes out of nowhere just trying to knock people out.

Then in the end - "Run away.. run away"

Thats a good point. At point blank range he could have shot her shoulder. However, it happened real fast, she just popped up into view. No time to evaluate whether she had a gun.

Who was Ashli Babbit?

The New York Times did some digging.

I believe another poster explained to you the means she had: such as her legs, hands, whatever was in backpack; and I've repeatedly explained how she was displaying threatening behavior before she even climbed on the window.

Considering no one else climbed through the window, up into that point, that alone will show she was a unique threat. People intent on doing no harm would not have taken that final climb.

To be fair the fact that Babbit got shot was probably enough of a warning to prevent anyone else following her.

Also: your response kinda sounds like those folks that would love to love their biological child (and TOTALLY would), but just can’t!

Because ya know: they’re gay.

What planet are you on? Care to explain how this fits into the narrative of someone being shot for doing something monumentally stupid? Or how what you wrote here even makes sense?

I have a few Gay friends with biological children (3 I can think of off the top of my head) and they all love their biological children. I assume you're a Homophobe? (I don't like assuming but this is a fair assumption)

I hope the new owners reinforce the old standards again, this place is really going downhill.

Or just pusher her back through the window while her hands were occupied.......

Nailed it.

I mean, its only the second most important government building in the country filled with elected representatives. Why some folk think that the guards wouldn't shoot if they feel threatened, or that their clients were likely to be harmed is beyond me

DOJ is investigating.

mobile.twitter.com...

Excessive force is weak sauce, imo.

Twitter links are weak sauce imo and the opinion of the Site Founders (and your Orange saviour too) but still you persist.

Most people won't open Twitter links here, for good reason.

No time to evaluate the situation, he acted on instinct, as he was trained to do.

I am sorry that you don’t understand that you don’t get to shoot unarmed people because they are simply trespassing.

Isn't trespassing on Goverment Property a shootable offence?

The security postings of a base will dictate the security response.

Huge difference between the response of trespassing on a normal federal army reserve center marked no trespassing Vs the posting at Area 51 clearly stating lethal force is authorized.

Does every White House trespass / breach end in a firearm being discharged?

For that matter. You really think ever trespassing incident at Area 51 results in someone being shot?
