Fast Track Impeachment? Can't say it's unwarranted. Can't say this fiasco should be limited to Trump either. Th same axe should fall on Nancy, Mitch, and Schumer.

Link Update (0815ET): With the 25th Amendment out the window, Congressional Democrats are moving on to door #2 - impeachment. According to CNN, Democrats may vote on impeachment as soon as the middle of next week.

According to the report, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her leadership team are working out a "lightning-quick impeachment process," according to "multiple Democratic sources."

"This is urgent -- this is an emergency of the highest magnitude," Pelosi told reporters on Thursday, adding "My phone has been exploding with 'impeach, impeach, impeach.'"

Pelosi and her leadership team spoke Thursday night about whether to hold a quick impeachment vote, and the overwhelming sentiment was to move ahead, according to multiple sources. While there were some dissenters concerned that the move could be perceived as an overreach and turn off Trump supporters in their districts, the view among most top Democrats -- including Pelosi -- is that Trump should be held accountable for his actions.
The full Democratic caucus will speak Friday at 12 p.m. ET.

Moving ahead with impeachment, of course, doesn't mean Congress would be able to remove Trump from office. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell could let the clock run out and not hold an impeachment trial in his chamber given that President-elect Joe Biden will be President on January 20. -CNN

Why? Did the other three explicitly encourage people to march on the Capitol? Did they promise to lead them then run away to their bunker?

Pelosi panicked the security guys. I'm sure they felt their jobs were hanging in the balance.

If nothing else, we learned there's no such thing as a leader in the Capitol.

They overlooked violence in major cities for over a year. They called violent riots "peaceful protests". Trump asked everyone to peacefully go home, now your best shot at making sure he doesn't run in 2024 is to impeach him 12 days away from Biden's inauguration. That's the epitome of childishness. Who wants people like that running this country?

I'll say it. It's unwarranted. You can't impeach Trump just because his supporters were fed up with being screwed and marched on the Capitol.

Actually, Pelosi did encourage people to come protest in DC during all of the protests this year. So did Harris.

So did obama. I specifically remember him telling bLM to "stay the course" when they were just getting fired up.

It's not just petty. They are terrified of him.

They should be too.

He uncovered their corruption and traitorous acts.

These Lefties are relying on you being too thick to realise their filthy agenda.

Trump should have told 'his people' to come locked & loaded. You and I both know a lot of them would have too.

Because he was half-stepping (instead of leading), I'd say he's got to pay for a 'wasted life'. What was that old presidential saying? The buck stops here?

They all have at one point or another.

Diffrence in their eyes is; The left was only exercising constituonal rights and protesting The right was rioting.. if it wasnt so pathetic i would laugh.

"Fiery but mostly peaceful protests" comes to mind.

Its been said before. If the left didnt have double standards, they would have none.

How are they going to vote? I thought they weren't even in session.
This is purely a political move to prevent any potential future run for office. They should at least admit it.

As much as I think this is unnecessary at this point, it would be kind of funny if Trump gets removed from office on 1/19. Trump will be denied all of his benefits for having served as President and Pence will set a record for shortest presidency that will never be beat.

More political punishment eh?
You sure that is a good idea at this point?
Censure would be more appropriate imo.

It's an emergency to impeach Trump?

More like an opportunity.

It solves the 2024 problem and obliterates his chances.

The march wasn't his fault. People felt betrayed, for good reason.

Breaking into secured areas wasn't cool...but I still think they had the absolute Right to Protest.

Did they not have the right to protest? Entering the Capitol Building, aside.

Of course they had the right. I think they had the right to 'evict' the people occupying their Capitol Building if that's what they wanted too. -chuckle

Mark my words, the team Biden is putting together is 'designed' to bring pain. We'll look back a January 6th as a missed opportunity.
