We can thank you then for the aweful weather we have here. Those nukes must have changed our weather patterns when they blew over from mainland Europe.

You can thank us for a lot of things, among them your freedom, your language and The Office.

I thank you from the depths of my heart.

Thank you, thank you thank you.

What happened yesterday was terrible but Biden calling it the darkest day in Americas history 🙄.

*September 11th 2001 has entered the chat*

I also wonder if all this attention would be the same if it was the Democrats storming the building... no I expect then it would be ok.

T reaction from the BBC and CNN is so over the top its cringeworthy. Trump did not hold a gun to his supporters heads and make them invade the building, no matter how many times people try and blame it on him, these people were adults and had their own mind and they decided to storm the building.

Also for what it's worth, this is the UK, not America. He is not our president and nor is Joe Biden so I think its high time this country stopped investing 99% of its time in Americas politics and focused on things at home. I have had to suffer the last couple of years of Sadiq Khan ignoring London because he's too busy worrying about what trump is doing. It's boring now.

Watching the dems and the do gooders here in the UK foaming at the mouth in sheer excitement because they can use this event to make Trumps last few days in office difficult is pathetic and cringeworthy... Get a grip, you dems have got your little commie china sympathising child sniffing Biden in power and as for my British brothers and sisters, calm down and stop worrying about politics in other countries, take a seat in your safe spaces and go back to focusing your efforts on trying to overturn the brexit vote.

Thanks

Dude, No-one here is going to ask you over for a free holiday. No matter how hard you try, so please refrain from sucking up right wing Yank arse. It's embarrassing.

Lmao what a ridiculous response? Please explain where I was up their arse? I bet you voted remain and think orange man is bad

Pfffft, come on man. We don't go by international organizations. Why do you think we won't use the metric system?

Celsius? Please. We like complicated systems of measurement.

A man after my own heart. Feet and inches, pounds and ounces all the way. However don't give a persons weight in just pounds, please use stones as well.

We've pretty much all become one big global society so anything happening to a major partner tends to trickle down and effect others worldwide in different ways, including politics.

As a fellow Brit, I find American politics much more interesting than English politics.

Also whatever (significant) happens over there, does effect us here, as well as many other countries.

So it's a no brainer for me.

Why does it affect us here? I keep hearing this crap, explain how?

How does the current events in America affect our lives exactly apart from triggering a few snowflakes, seriously?

Because the war on truth is not confine in the US. Trumps example of rolling BS without having consequences. Is growing and spreading fast(like a virus)... So the US making an example Trump is really important. It is as important to defeat Trumpism as it was important to defeat Nazism... Next time i might happen in a weak country and will succeed...

The USA hadn't even entered the war when The Battle Of Britain took place.

Learn some history.

Everyone knows we nuked the Germans after they bombed Pearl Harbor.

Yes and according to U571 we also have to thank you for capturing an Enigma code machine for us.

And according to Peal Harbour we must also thank 2 of your pilots for winning the Battle of Britain, too.

Thank you, from the heart of my bottom.

To be fair I've discussed many a topic over the years and, not once, have I ever felt the need to tell someone who isn't British to keep out of discussing British matters. Not that they haven't chimed in, on the contrary, I welcome their input. This is a site on the WWW after all!

yeah...this is not just an American site its international...So if they want a American only discussion well its the wrong site to expect that

While it needs to be adressed I think conflating it with Nazism is a bit ridiculous. Defeating it shouldn't be the aim either, it's a free world, people have the right to believe and do whatever they want as long as they're not causing physical harm to others.

It's far better to buy those you disagree with a pint and have an open, grown-up adult debate/conversation about things than just shouting at them. I've 'converted' a few people following genuine neo-nazi groups in the UK. combat18, BNP, National Front. They hated racism and Nazism but were unaware of the history of the leaders of those movements.

The extreme left is increasingly trying to stiffle and stop rational debate and open conversation which is essential to sharing of ideas and is the backbone of democracy by accusing those they disagree with of racism or nazism (not trying to imply you have done any of this, just the war on truth and grown up debate is coming from far-right and far-left in the US and UK; Trump's tactics are borrowed from the Russian FSB/GRU pocketbook writer Alexander Dugin).

Mind you, yer average Yank on here seems to call anyone moderately centre left a commie or a socialist.

What would they have made of Corbyn? As in the real deal?

True. I think most US members heads would explode if they read up Corbyns policies. I'm further left than him/Labour but he was bat# mental over scrapping Trident and actively leacing us open to invasion (never supported a party in my life; just have personal politics which varies from right wing to left wing on topics but is overall left).

I saw you were getting jip and false accusations of being 'leftist' in the threads about the Capitol storming events. Guess those posters never look at UK based threads.

Indeed. Apparently I'm a card carrying goddam commie pinko according to some folk on here who I suspect have a lot of friends called Bubba.

I used to be very much a Conservative (apologies) but now am disillusioned with the lot of them and go with "none of the above".

Mind you, some of these folk think that the UK is a socialist state under Shariah law and that we are part of mainland continental Europe.

Can't stand Trump though. As you may have guessed.

The amount of times us Brits get labelled like that is turning into a joke on here. It's become so cliché.
