MF Doom was the masked MC who was a favorite of real hip hop heads. He made his mark wearing a Dr. Doom mask while wowing hip hop fans with his dense prose. Not since Rakim has the hip hop world has a poet that could break rewind buttons this often.

Doom was solidly in my Top 5.

Figured I'd leave a few of his legendary videos. My favorite being My Favorite Ladies. Pure genius. Listen to the song and then listen again. All I can say is he ain't actually talking about women... each woman he describes is actually a drug.

I have never heard of this man before I saw it here and had to google. He is a father and a husband from what I read and unless he was some kind of pedophile or something akin that is a little rough. He was a human and celebrating a death is a little sick IMO.

The Message of the Mask

He was heavily influenced by comic books / cartoons.

Early in his career in late 80s, he was known as part of the group KMD. No mask. He tragically lost his rhyme partner and brother and kind of fell out of music industry. He came back, but as he said, he wanted to focus on the craft first. He started showing up at MC battles with the mask to and it kind of stuck.

Not maybe so. I think highly of him. He’s a good guy behind the scenes as well as in front of the scenes. It doesn’t mean that I need to agree with everything he says.
