Congratulations! If only you could free yourself’s from the Crown. Well, maybe next time.

The UK has a constitutional monarchy, this means that the crown belongs to the people, rather than the people belonging to the crown. So it would be less of a case of the people freeing themselves from the crown and more a case of the people returning the crown's freedom to it.

This is pretty moot though as the crown is one of the most popular institutions in the UK. It's seen as a uniting force that connects all classes and all sectors of society. People like it, and many of them would like more of it.

Happy independance day my fellow brits (in just over 2 hours)

Its been an awful year but as we enter 2021 and continue our fight against covid, we can take pride in the fact we are doing it as an independant sovereign nation.

Happy new year folks and happy independance day

P.S: The capital letters were deliberate

Didn't Britain manage to get the covid vaccine approved almost a month before Europe specifically because it had regulatory independence and wasn't tied down by EU red tape?

That right there seems like a victory for Brexit.

So now we are out of the EU our government abolished tax on sanitary products.

The loons at the guardian though want to be clear that this is nothing to do with Brexit as the EU might have dropped the tax eventually. Haha
The EU parliament has been considering this tax since 2016 and done nothing.
1 day out of the EU and the tax is gone.

This shows one of the reasons why we voted to leave, to get stuff done.

.........Or it was because rishi sunak has a massive stake in pfizer and pulled strings. Notice how hes been away from the cameras lately, it's because his ties to pfizer came out. He still refuses to say whether he will profit from it ..... but we all know.

The first act of The UK being free of The EU has just been put into place.

Pulse Fishing is now banned in UK Waters. This is mainly carried out by The Dutch.

Well being from Canada, we only got independence from Britain in 1982, so yeah...seems ironic to me...being from a former colony of Britain and all that.

I would argue that you gained your independence in 1867 but since the (Canadian) status quo liked thing's the way they were you were still tied to Britain by some tail end's until 1982 when you finally broke free from law's made in the UK.

Still you have been a pretty much independent nation since 1867 so?.

(and several times after that you were under thread of invasion and annexation by the US so wanted to keep us while we were still a power close by since family and all of that what with the US being the black sheep for a while before we made it up with hug's and cuddles when the NAZI's appeared, and really let's be fair number of states aside Canada is really two major nations, one dominated by French Canadian Canuck's and the other by predominantly English and I don't mean to belittle the oft oppressed native nations in that whom have suffered racism beyond most human beings tolerance) over the century's) - (though you know Canada mulled invading the US once or twice during that time as well perhaps as a kind of proactive self defence since they knew that more than one US president was thinking about invading them and let's be fair of all the soldiers of the British Empire there are three group's that are legendary the Canadian's, the New Zealander's and the Australian's, there were others such as the Indian - south east Asian India we still call native north Americans because of Columbus mistake and even some islands the west indies because of it - Sikh's but perhaps due to racist accounts of history there part has oft been overlooked and literally whitewashed out until more recent historical research revealed the great part they also played in many of our empires battles and wars).

"We will not go quietly into the night!
We will not vanish without a fight!
We're going to live on!
We're going to survive!"
Today, we celebrate our Independence Day!

Independence Day , the movie.
Just sounded appropriate (to me)
The UK becomes the UK again.

Cheers to y'all.
