My Grandfather was a General Contractor and Mason by trade. All my uncles and father knew how to lay block or brick. Other grandfather was a Chief
Design Engineer. My issue is I always overbuild so I don't have to fix it again. At he end of the day it doesn't really cost much more.
I also used to repair my cars when I didn't make much money. One and done and yes a shortcut here or there. But I never spent my life repairing cars.
Never! I remember that I had a small cut on my upper radiator hose so I wrapped it with black electrical tape. Since I played hockey so I had a lot of
tape around. That tape held so good I never replaced the hose. The car was going to be entered into a Demo Derby at the County Fair but the frame
cracked from rust. I ended up driving it to the junk yard. Sparks and all. Yet, the tape held.
What I never understood was these guys are always working on their car.
So do they suck as a mechanic, use cheap knock off parts or they do it to get away from their wife or girlfriend?
Me thinks all of the above
