Ukraine recently said missles capable of carrying nuclear warheads were smuggled into Iran without official sanction. The missles in question are the X-55's or AS-15s, which can reach targets over 1800 miles away. This would give them the ability to attack Israel.

Ukraine said on Friday cruise missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads had been "smuggled" out of the country to Iran, but denied a report they had been exported with official sanction.

The United States accuses Iran of trying to secretly develop nuclear weapons. Tehran denies the charge, saying its nuclear program is only for power generation.

The X-55 has a range of some 1,800 miles. Launched from Iran, it could reach Israel.

"There have been problems in the past with Ukraine's exports of weapons of mass destruction or advance weaponry. The dialogue with the previous government was not quite satisfactory."

The thing that worries me is the other things they might have smuggled in. We are only hearing about this because they got caught. How many times do you think they've managed to sneak something in without detection?

Also, you have to feel a little paranoid when Iran states that their nuclear research is for power generation purposes only and then goes and aquires missles capable of supporting nuclear warheads. These missles also have the capability of reaching Israel, which to me doesn't sound too promising.

Am i too paranoid or what?

Well, I am confused.
Iran did state that they had missiles capable of reaching Israel. It was my understanding that these were homegrown. Were they not forward enough thinking to produce missiles that could also carry a nuke?

Would you want to bomb iranian nuclear facillities on the slim change that they already might have one nuke ready, that could be carried by the hypothised ukranian cruise missiles ?

There could be still a window of oppertunity in time where one could try to forcefully shut down their nuclear program, but I would think the window is closing fast or maybe already shut ? Allthough Rumsfeld put out statement some time ago the iranians might be years away from the actual nuke, but who believes politician statements without prove nowadays....Maybe he tried to make it sound reasonable why the iranian facillities weren't bombed yet, maybe they were to busy with setting up Saddam to check the real potential WMD threat from Teheran ????

I would think that the usa or the israeli should have acted by now on this oppertunity ? unless they either have a margin of several years indeed or its simply too late alreafdy ???

Intelligence services better not screw up this time!

Maybe this makes Syria is a more interesting candidate to force peace on the middle-east..
