And it’s all under Trump’s watch.

He could have stood up and controlled this, just like Germany has. But, very much like my country, he chose to ignore all the warnings, chose to decide that the only way was to continue as before.

I am sure, the Governments of the world have decided to make the most of a crisis and test our resolve by seeing how far they can go with their control, but deny ignorance and either have a total lockdown, or let us go on as we always have.

I really don't think you understand how America works.

The President is not in charge of individual states...

Far from it.

The governors are.

I find it funny that the left screams about Trump being a "Dictator" then scream for him to pull a FDR on the states when it was never in his power to do so...

You need to read a little more about "separation of powers" and the 10th Amendment.

You need to understand, I really don’t care.

You need to understand, that post was your 30th post of the day that was Pro-Biden, Pro-Big Government, Pro-Socialist.

I think that "I don't care" really means what you think it means...

You need to understand that not once have I ever promoted sleepy Joe.

But carry on with your right wing circle jerk.

Dey terk our lection.

Oh you poor thing.

I've wound you up enough for the night, it seems.

But what is it about you and circle jerks?

Is that a family weekend event for you or something?

Because you bring it up an awful lot....

And Good Night.

Lots of death in the next couple of weeks and not from Covid.

The end of the year due to holidays are known for increase of suicides. Depression sets in hard this time of year under typical circumstances. This year I can see it being worse, much worse. Financial, loneliness, isolated beyond the norm. Hell, even those who enjoy the holidays are depressed this year.

I’m the person that made that post, and I’m not American, so maybe, just maybe, look at the profile before you start making accusations. It’s not too difficult to clearly see I am from the U.K.

I am not from the USA either, but it's clear they are suffering. The problem seems to be that you don't care because you are uninterested in their suffering, because you believe in the ideology that is taking them over.

You are essentially a scab.

Political scab

Also, and on a side note, you seem to be a bit of a dick, not sure why you are such, but you are.

Live with it I guess.

You know ... I don't recall many ATSers openly rubbing salt in the wounds of those who would have preferred to remain after they lost the Brexit vote.

But you do seem to be rubbing salt in wounds very openly as if you lived here, and the policy implications for citiznes of the US are just as massive.

ATTENTION

This thread is not in the mudpit. And if it were personal attacks would still violate T&C.

Knock it off.

Yeah, best of luck getting anybody to acknowledge the realities of how it works.

I explained it many times going back seven months, but nothing penetrates a brain under the intoxication of fantasy that says Trump is to blame for everything bad that happens.

They aren't able to hear the explaination because it they did it would crush their carefully constructed fantasy.

SO what do they do?

They attack our means of physical exercise, socializing, and spiritual expression as "non-essential".

It's almost like they WANT to break us.

no you're pretty much spot on I don't know if you know it but I'm sure you do I think you're working the medical professionally your husband is the fact that it is is that first you break the person's spirit and then after that you slowly creep in mind control and unfortunately the Chinese and the Russians are experts at it and apparently the CIA decided to share their social experiment on the American society as well this time around

People who have winter hobbies such as snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing, hunting, and do winter camping events do not get SADD, SADD was rarely heard of in the seventies when everyone went out two nights a week to the live band bars. But sometimes shoveling three feet of snow in the morning and trying to get your car unstuck was pretty depressing, so was the night you spent in Jail for the drunk driving ticket.

We live in the U.P of Michigan, SADD means you do not belong here, some snowbirds fly away for the winter. Winter does not depress me much unless it lasts over six and a half months....which does happen sporatically. Heck, the snow was still in the yard around our yard in a pile on the second of June this year and came and stayed in early November last year. I felt SADD for all the trees that bent and broke last year, I bet there was seventy or eighty of them that got badly damaged or died on my property. It was kind of depressing to see all those trees dying..

Spreading Covid fear is not helping things either, but the governor should have put things back to normal in the summer, there would have been a lot less overall hospitalizations and deaths if people would have gotten this in the summer when there is not nearly as much pneumonia and flues flying around. The irrational response to this virus is depressing, Any knowledgeable and rational health professional would somewhat agree with me on this. A lot of people would already have immunity, we could have protected the old and risky individuals and still let this virus run it's course in the summer.

How did we get such a bunch of overeducated idiots running our health system in this country. I agree that now we do have to wear masks to slow the spread because a bunch of fear mongering people would not let it spread in a way less risky time.

I don't know if we've ever done anything "collectively", short war efforts.

Maybe we are at war right now though.

We're at war against the people we voted in.
So. We are at war with ourselves?

If you'd ask me a year ago If I thought the country would be in the state it is now, I'd say you were crazy.
We are by no means wealthy, but life was good. We smiled a lot and enjoyed life. We don't do a lot of partying, we are not huge social animals with a full social calendar and a ton of friends and family. We're healthy, well-adjusted members of society.

Life was pretty good.
Today life isn't nearly as good. We're in okay shape, especially in light of the people forced out of work, those who are sick with whatever illnesses, those who cannot get treatment because of covid restrictions, those languishing in adult care homes, those who are suffering financially due to the covid lockdowns.

American mental health ratings reached their lowest point in two decades this year. Only 34 percent of U.S. adults assess their emotional well-being as “excellent” compared to 43 percent who reported the same in 2019.

Practicing your faith, when it is allowed, seems to help with mental well-being.

Those with the greatest ratings of mental well-being were attendants of weekly religious services, who were the only sub-group to report a rise in their mental health from 42 percent to 46 percent reporting their psyche of being in excellent shape.

Columbia University psychologist Lisa Miller found in 2014 that spirituality and religion can act as a psychic armor to protect individuals from depression by thickening the brain cortex. Three years prior, Miller found that among adults who reported a high importance on religion or spirituality, 76 percent were less likely to suffer from a major depressive episode, even when their parents had depression therefore raising their risk.

Too many people are isolated due to the covid. Some are locked in homes, some have been robbed of social outlets due to covid. Some are stuck at home instead of school. Some are working from home. Not all of us thrive away from social settings. And it's getting colder and darker....so SADD is becoming an issue.

According to health experts, not only are some Americans dealing with depression due to isolation because of Covid-19, they now might also be battling seasonal depression.

Then there is burnout among healthcare workers.

Research has demonstrated the emotional highs and lows of dealing with disasters are significant and long-lasting. Each wave brings about new record highs and uncertainty as to when these spikes will peak. These waves can act as triggers for stress, anxiety, and depression for the workforce and building upon mental health strain. These strains impact the individuals and the care they provide.

I interpret this a bit different though. I see all these mental issues that become apparent now were already looming in the distance only to become visible when the distractions were taken away.

When there would be a real mass event that would shake existence up you know for sure you could not count on these people at all.

Not that I am a fan of what is happening now but I don't mind shaking out the weak that can not even live a year on their own. Can you imagine being shipwrecked with a small group while most of the group would be like the ones that have issues now? They would become my BBQ meat that's for sure.

You joke but just yesterday a doctor told my wife, when she requested a flu test with her covid test, that she has only seen 1 case of flu in 6 months.

The flu is spread the same way as COVID.

Take precautions against COVID and you take precautions against flu.

Factor in a fear of visiting health centres and you get a lower rate of diagnosed flu.

Considering that the flu and COVID share a lot of symptoms and that doctors are almost certainly going to test for COVID before flu and the general over-sensitivity of the COVID PCR test, how many cases of flu are actually misdiagnosed as COVID?

So why are devout mask wearers getting COVID? They’re saying that up to 85% of the people contracting the COVID virus are mask wearers. Your analogy doesn’t make sense.

Is it even possible?

We Americans are not only feeling low, but also confused.
If we keep away from each other enough to not get the flu..........

It's not an analogy, it's a statement of fact.

Masks reduce the risk of transmission of both; they do not eliminate it.

You would expect a better reduction you would think.

85% of people who wear masks religiously are still getting ill?

If fact, then you should be able to back that statement up with some numbers, got any?

I would still expect to see similar rates of transmission, I’m not seeing that. The CDC flu map is telling. Who’d of thought that CV would eradicate the flu.
