WTF! Expected high volumes of adverse reactions

A government contract shows the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Authority has paid a software company called Genpact UK £1.5m to develop an AI tool to “process the expected high volume of Covid-19 vaccine adverse drug reaction (ADRs) and ensure that no details . . . are missed”.

My Parents (mid to late 70's) are of the opinion that if the "Government" and the "Experts" on the telly say it's safe, that's good enough for them.

Aye, You first maw, That's the spirit, take one for the team. you've had a good innings anyway. ffs.

AI has been used to analyse the potential, if any, risk of various medications and vaccines plus their interactions with other medications for a few years. It's quicker and more accurate (in general) - I can't imagine £1.5m buys much in the way of AI though, I thought that stuff cost £100s of millions - billions?

The big scandal in such testing is when standard lab rats (albino mice) are used there's only a 10% probability of being reproduced in the human body. It hasa 90% fail rate but was the method used for decades.

Any human rights activists or lawyers on ATS?

Best mate is I'll ask him.

There was a tragic case last year which may potentially have removed or weakened Dr patient confidentiality in the UK but not sure what the outcome was. I'm guessing it didn't as otherwise it would have been big news.

Long story short a woman (Woman A) was suing the NHS as her father had been diagnosed with Huntington's disease and asked his Dr not to let family know. Due to his condition Man A shot and killed his wife (Woman A's mother) and Woman A would have sought screening of her pregnancy as she would have chosen to abort her child had she known her child would also get the disease.

Yeah, I get the feeling they just want to close their eyes, click their heels three times and Hey, it's Kansas pre-Tornado again.

I'm sure theirs a joke in here somewhere about a Strawman, Munchkins, and cowardly lions but I'll leave that for someone else to figure out.

Nothing to see here.

Just coz Bill and Melinda gave £980k to the MHRA to look at stuff, including regulation of urgently requied drugs in Low and Middle Income Countries & Adverse Drug Reactions's (see other posts related to ADR's and AI) back in 2017, and

just coz Bill and Melinda own stock in both Pfizer AND BioNTech, and

just coz the independant MHRA has its press releases on a UK Government webpage

Just means how super fair that kinda muppety looking guy in the pullover is, and just how eager the Tory party are to be seen to be as winners.

Nothing to see here.

It's sarcasm.

Of course it suits a number of agendas to jump on the Pfizer bus, even if they don't quite know where its going. I reckon the gamble is the vaccine probably wont kill anyone, but it might not be as effective as its own publicity.

The weakness is we have no standalone, politically disinterested, authority - asbisvthe way with so many aspects of British Government.

If we can't fund our own drugs authority, levy the drugs companies to fund it - don't take a 'grant' from an individual to pay the rent. Until it is truly independant then its words are weightless. "Sorry" is easy to say, paricularly when you can't be sued.

Why?, I've managed to survive this long by being careful. I'll just keep being careful.

This will be the first time ever that a vaccine of this type, and by that, I mean how it works in the body, how it attaches to and modifies your DNA, has been deemed safe for use in humans. It's caused lots of health issues and fatalities in animals it has been tested on in the past.

You can be a Lab Rat. It's no skin off my nose, but don't come crying to me when you grow a massive set of whammers and your cock and bollocks drop off.

Looks like us Brits will be leading the way again much like WWII. I’ll be taking one for the team ASAP, mainly because I’m selfless but also because I am looking forward to a beach holiday without any snowflakes (anti_vaxers) to bother me by the sea.
