Not sure if this is the right forum as it has been sometime since I've last logged in. But it does deal with people after all
Well, it really is not so much as a prediction as something that will come to pass in my eyes. The series “The Stand” if you did not know is a
novel by Stephan King that deals with a world-wide pandemic that whittles away at the worlds (The USA in this novel) population and leaves just two
camps standing…one good and the other bad. (Sound familiar?)
Of course they end up battling each other to the bitter end.
This is being released right around the holidays when emotions run high in a normal year, and this year has been anything but normal, AM I RIGHT?
Depression runs rampant this time of year.
I think that a lot of people who are on a razors edge right now and are going to watch this show and see the correlation between entertainment and
real life and it could quite possibly push them over the edge.
I enjoyed the first TV version, but also thought it was fairly scary as I was working as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) defense
specialist at the time and I saw it as a possibility back then. My sister wouldn’t even watch it because she thought it was to realistic. And
probably is, with the exception of Mother Abilgail and the Dark Man (Randall Flagg), it truly is.
Anywhos…My prediction is that we’ll see a spike in people taking their (and possibly others) lives between mid December and April. I think that
this show along with winter and lockdowns will contribute to the spike. It’ll give some ideas that normally would never have thought of such a
drastic measure.
If you, or someone you know has suicial thoughts, seek help please. I can speak from experiance as I had a sister who took her own life. While it may
end their pain, it wreaks havoc on others lives who cared about them.
