Actually the founders had the States send their own selected Senators to represent the State. It was only when enough states selected by general election rather than the intended appointment by the State Legislators and Governor did the Constitution change.
There have been serious problems ever since due to partisanship and an overall lacking of bicameral processes. Mostly an erosion of State Powers and individual rights bargained off to collectives.

There is no evidence of Dominion "interference" (whatever that even means.)
What's the weather like there where you live in Denial?
It's not a fear I share.
I more fear a dictatorship under the likes of Trump.

Perhaps you should, as Lenin stated that communism is the goal of socialism.

Really? So, just what has he done which was dictatorial and how does it compare with... say... gov Gretchen Whitmer attesting people who try to keep their businesses open, or say the various lockdowns closing businesses and arresting people for paddle boarding alone in the ocean ( yes that really did happen) while Cali gov ignores his own mask and social distancing mandates.
Perhaps you would want to rethink who and what you think is a dictatorship.
