My husband likes to watch a few YTers after work before he goes to bed. Nothing would load for him, so I popped over here to see if there was a thread about it, and if anyone else had issues. Lo and behold, it was not just us, so it was a load off (no need to bitch at Comcast again for speed throttling)

Suck a lobstah, Mainer, you yourself might not have gotten anything out of the thread, but many others did.

Appears to be back up now....at least it is for me.

Probably doing “maintenance” to their programs and algorithms that will do even more automatic censoring of posts that don’t hail Biden and his calls for “unity” while his party creates websites and lists of Trump supporters for future punishment. Probably putting some patches in there to more easily look through our phones and computers, too.

I've noticed a bit of a change in YouTube lately to be honest. Something just doesn't seem right about it. I've been getting recommended videos I've watched before, but are like 7+ years old.

The platform’s TeamYouTube account acknowledged the problems in a Twitter post. “If you’re having trouble watching videos on YouTube right now, you’re not alone — our team is aware of the issue and working on a fix. We’ll follow up here with any updates,” it tweeted at 7:23 p.m. ET.

Nearly two hours later, TeamYouTube said service had been restored: “And we’re back — we’re so sorry for the interruption. This is fixed across all devices & YouTube services, thanks for being patient with us,” the account tweeted, adding a red heart emoji.
