Hi, I'm looking for any information on this gun:

I'm moslty interested in its rate of fire and range, as I have most the other information. I've tried searching but only came up with this site: www.world.guns.ru...

or ones that look amazingly suspect.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

This site may be what you are looking for
www.snipersystems.co.uk...

The range is dependent on calibre, i'ts availible in .243, 7.62/.308, .338, 300 win mag. The .338 is the longest range I belive at around 2000 yards it is capable of hitting a man. It reportedly shoots a 2 inch group at 1000 yards.
Rate of fire is also dependent upon how fast you can cycle the bolt.
Iv'e got one in .243, .308 and .338 so if you'd like any other info just let me know and I'll see what I can do.
Hope Iv'e been helpful

It's only available in .308 and .338 as far as I know...

Wow, 5000 pounds for a DSR-1, probably THE most accurate rifle in the world, compared to the overpriced PSG-1...

You own three?

After checking the price list, I know one ATS poster who is rolling in dough!

No, it's definately availible in .243 and 300 win mag, and rumored to soon be availible in .308 silenced.

Yes and no, got it originally in .243, later added a .338 and .308 barrel. Three quarter turns with an allen key and the barrell just pulls out

I'm only 17, so it's my dad's officially but we both shoot

Guns are not "banned" in the UK. They're very heavily restricted (especially pistols, which are basically illegal after the Dunblane massacre). Rifles and shotguns are still legal, you just need a licence (which you effectively don't in America). And the guy you're asking (Ruled By Secrecy) just said that the DSR-1 is bolt-action not semi-auto. Same with most sniper rifles (as a high ROF is pointless with a weapon where you shoot once, kill once, then move).

I some what wonder, how you get the licence? I can't find any info on it, online. Can someone help and point me in the right direction?

First of all, I never said it was semi-auto, I know it's bolt-action, I was just mentioning that semi-auto's were banned for sure but I wasn't sure about other types of firearms, I believe some are legal to own like single shot SA-80's I believe and some other types of weapons.

In America you need a FBI background check to get a modern firearm and if you don't pass it you don't get your weapon, that's quite effective.

(ab) any self-loading or pump-action rifled gun other than one which is chambered for .22 rim-fire cartridges.

does thus mean you can ONLY own .22LRs?!

I think it means no self loading ones...

You can get self loading .22lr but anything larger has to be single shot.
It's illegal to own any pistol, but you can buy a muzzle loading pistol which can be fired almost as fast as a semi (double action revolvers). If anyone can see any sense in that, please let me know.
If you wish to get an fac youll have to contact you local police firearms department and go from there, also unless you have land to shoot on you must join a club and complete the probationary membership time then you can apply.
