Exactly the first part was from your link, I knew there was turmoil in Germany after WW1, but didn't know it was challenged so much beforehand. Not to sound overly dramatic in a lot of ways America is now primed for a socialistic shift more so than Germany was.

At this point, the only way I will entertain unity with the left is if they come out and hold rallies where they kneel to me, express their deep shame for being a bunch of bigoted haters for the last 20 years or so, and then wash my feet and ask me how they can begin to atone for this (sort of like they were doing with BLM). If they do that, I might consider unity.

Why don't more people just point out that in Europe, where they had some of the most severe lockdowns, the cases are also rising at an astronomical pace? It's still a novel virus, and winter is setting in. The rise in cases is normal. Anyone who expected otherwise is a fool.

Because that doesn't push the narrative the press and the left want. Lock downs destroy the economy, and that's the real goal. It was never about controlling any virus, unless you consider human beings a virus.

Well, if you read down further you would have seen where I acknowledged the covid, even contracted it possibly (I don't know for certain, just that I was really sick right before covid became a thing). So no, I don't claim the covid is a creation of the dems, or even that it's fake.

However, what I do claim, and I don't speak for other countries although I probably could draw some parallels, is that the dems in this country are largely responsible for wiping out the economy due to covid and the handling of it. Democratically controlled states have the worst results of all in the handling of the crisis. So, was the economy being crushed worth it?

And the whole point of the OP was...here we go again! They (yes the dems) are already lubing up the populace for new, and even more stringent, lockdowns in the future, and they're using their loyal MSM hacks to spread the message of panic and fear. The mechanisms for dealing with the crisis are not economic, so killing the economy doesn't fix the crisis, but it fixes the democratic message, that much is sure.
