Jeopardy Host Alex Trebek Has Died

Looks like 2020 takes another, Alex Trebek has died, presumably from complication related to his recent pancreatic cancer diagnosis.

Man, I grew up watching this guy and loved jeopardy, it really is the best game show because it’s quick paced, all about the knowledge, and no filler crap where you can tell the producers told them to needlessly talk out every answer to increase run time (looking at you wwtba millionaire). Jeopardy had integrity and class and managed to keep it through all these years.

Really gonna miss this guy, but the question now is who could possibly replace him?
My top 3 are:
Ken Jennings
Neil Degrasse Tyson
Bill Nye

Anyone else come to mind?

He was a class act...in my city we have the Alex Trebek building at the University.
I was hoping that he would beat it.

RIP.

My heart goes out to Sean Connery. Trebek got him in the end.

Jeoprady was a great game show, probably the best. R.I.P., Alex.

sad day Trebek was a class act. no one can ever come close to him.

i'm willing to bet it will be jennings, they brought him in saying he was going to be a producer/consultant, kinda think it was more of a grooming deal.

I loved Alex. Class act and great charisma. The replacements you mentioned suck except for Jennings. Nye is a jackass and Tyson is a pompous ass. No thanks.

This was no surprise to the producers of the program. Ken Jennings was brought in to the current season and used for ''stock shots'' in promotional. I also read that he will be featured as a guest question asker on some of the video questions that they often use. Jennings is the fan favorite contestant and hence the logical heir to the king.

I'm sure the producers will find the best fit for their show. Just so it isn't Steve Harvey.

That sucks! I thought that he had it beat back. But that pancreatic cancer is viscous.

I love Jeopardy... except the opera questions! And Trebek has always seemed to be there.

Indeed, an era has come to an end!

And love the SNL send up with Connery and Burt Reynolds as contestants! And him and Presidential candidate Jessie Ventura as MIBs in the XFiles! He did not take himself so seriously and that showed in his interviews.

RIP, Alex Trebek.

Forgot about the XFiles episode. That was a good one.

I remember I always lived for the teen tournament. I knew more then a lot of the contestants. Of course, performing under the actual pressure is always different, but I always wanted to be on it. And Trebek was part of the reason why.
