When I heard ATS was on the out, I was devastated as I love participating in the community here, debating, and politics has become centerfold in those debates for me. I feared I'd lose out on what I enjoyed most here, participating in those debates and reading the various thoughts from other members. I think as a parting gift I wanted to spend one more presidential election on here and I got that wish. I now get to leave knowing that I got to spend a political highlight on this forum with fellow ATSers. Thank you for keeping this forum moving up until now.

I'll still hover around here until the final days of ATS, but I'm happy to know I got the parting gift I had hoped for when it was announced this forum was in its year of operation. I'll note that the discussion had since been closed but I wanted the opportunity to post this.

Cheers to 11 years ATS.

Am I reading this correct, this is ATS's last year of operation?

To be honest this was my wild guess. That thread has since closed now but we were made to understand the forum didn't have much long to go, and this was back at the start of the year. There wasn't any indication as to how long, just that they'd keep the forum operating for as long as possible. My guess was that if they assumed it'd be for another good year or, they'd be clear about that.

Again, just my assumption and I'd be happily proven wrong as it'd be difficult to move on from this forum next year...

That was just the yearly donation drive.

Thank goodness abovetopsecret.com did not go to the dark side, like Twitter and Facebook and Google have done!

Nah, SG has been around a long time. I've been around 12, almost 13 years and we've been annoying each other that whole time.

I've lurked since 9/11, joined many years ago. Not surprised it's circling the drain. It started the moment it became more political than anything else. Too many switched from CS/Alt posts to politics. It sucks

I meant the whole ats is dying thing...what better way to drum up a little support for a place that's likely costing as much or more than it's making.

So we're thinking it's a conspiracy within a conspiracy forum? Talk about inception.

I don't know I feel SO was being genuine.

Would hardly be the first conspiracy surrounding ATS.

I'm sure SO would be bored without us. Where else can he come unwind and read a bunch of ridiculous things written by crazy people?

Yeah bro, I'm surprised were still rolling here.
Thankful as eff, but by how they were talking a few months back, it sounded like the shut down was happening any day now.
I'm happy were still in operation here.

No one was accepting donations.
We all offered.
Some of us offered large sums even.
But TPTB declined.

So it wasn't a financial ploy in any sense.

You really think ATS was going to turn out the lights before the election happened?

Yeah, that happened some time ago and many of us donated.

Nothing of value was ever created with that money beyond what was presumably necessary to keep some lights on.

Just an observation but why does ATS not hold quarterly or semiannual donation campaigns here? I haven't searched very hard but I didn't see any prominently visible donation button to push around here.

Every site has become political. We are living in "interesting times" as the proverb goes. A conspiracy site is actually one of the best places to discuss it. Unfortunately they are all getting either blocked, banned and blacklisted. We are getting danger close to having no conspiracies anymore. If they say it then that is all there is to it.

I'm in agreement on the whole ;ATS being a great site for conspiracies' thing... probably the best site on Conspiracies!

Been posting and reading stuff for around 10 years and learnt alot, especially about the Sumerians and Anunnaki aswell as Ancient sites!
