That part's utterly ridiculous. By the standards being used, i could get utterly wasted drinking on a friday night, wake up in the morning and drive home just fine. I could spend that friday night smoking a joint or two, drive to work on monday, be tested and lose my license.

Plenty of room to throw people in jail over small things there.

If there's one thing I can recommend to states pursuing legalization, don't follow Canada's route. They managed to make a multi-million dollar industry lose money.

Oh I know about how it's been mismanaged here. They started off, on the wrong foot immediately. All about greedy investors trying to cash in, high expectations(pun intended) And people running things with no practical experience..other than a degree..it was doomed to fail. Pretty much everything I predicted has come to be. I don't mind watching these giant guys fail. Small craft micro production is what should of been the push.

And, yes, if you muck around and not follow the rules, you can still have legal problems. I have not heard of anyone doing time for it here, since legalising.

There is no accurate test as of yet, police depts here are not using the tests conceived, because they only indicate something in your system, and no test to determine intoxication.

For the most part, nothing will change, other than the legalities. The people that want to use, already likely are. Take away prison, put money into treatment..for those ready for it.

As for Oregon....well, someone has to trial it to see if Americans can even do it right. If Antifa-BLM Ground Zero can make it work with no or minimal comparative drawbacks, it'd certainly be a little promising for the rest of the country. It's...it's a start, at least.

This isn't what's happening though. Most of the dispensaries and distributors that had been operating for years here semi-legally were shut down. Under current laws, there's no actual way to acquire legal seeds, the limits on edibles means you can't produce anything in any amounts people actually want to buy. A single, individually packaged 10mg edible is not going to Jack # for anyone.

The laws favour large corporations. The licensing costs just to be a legal distributor or producer that it keeps most people out without initial capital. The few mass growing licenses were given to government backed companies.

It doesn't help that the people complying with these laws and operating government facilities are ratting out the illegal ones and complaining because of 'unfair competition' instead of doing anything to make these laws better.

Canada gave the weed industry to corporations. It's only a matter of time before the next crackdown on local distributors and online mail order. They've already gone after every company using a .ca domain.

That has always been my concern with pot in that it can stay in your system a very long time as can other drugs. Alcohol has a very specific rate of how long it is in your system as in hours, but drugs can be days or longer and it doesn't take a person being drunk or high to get a DUI if they have anything in their system and the cop says they are driving impaired, and a DUI is horrendously hard on a person that will effect a good chunk of their life for a long time.

As they loosen the law against, they tighten up at the taxes. In my state, they impose 25% tax on growers, 25% tax on producers, and 25% tax on sale. That is a boatload of money. If I want to grow, I am supposed to let them know and then they can tax me on my own supply. I just say nothing to the State and hope I don't get caught. It is not legal, merely permitted. Wordology techniques. Rat Bastards they are.


No downside? Taxes are legalized theft by people that feel they have to tell you how to live and make you pay them to do it. AKA psychopaths

As opposed to imprisoning you for it? Yea, I'll take the newer alternative.

Grow it yourself, don't pay the taxes, I don't care... Again, I see no downside to laws loosening.
