Let me start by saying I live here in bozeman Montana. I support trump, but voted Obama twice before voting trump in 2016.

This year I cast my ballot early and it was counted by Oct 15. I voted a straight Republican ticket for the first time in my life.

With all of the political chaos scheduled for election day I made a conscious decision not to take part in all the theatrics and basically tune it all out. My civic duty to this constitutional republic was done for the year.

So, what did I do instead?

Here is my election day itinerary:

4:00 am. Woke up got dressed warmed up the truck.

4:15 am. Got gas and coffee.

5:00 am picked up my hunting buddy Tom.

6:00 am. Got to old womans grave in Townsend montana. Which is a dirt road through BLM land.

6: 44 am. Let the hunting begin! We have elk on our minds and i have a tag to fill.

7:34 am. We see our first live critter. He was a big coyote. We had a great look at him, but he wasn't on our list so we watched each other for a bit and eventually both parties continued their morning hunts.

8:15 am. We see 10 mule deer. There are 3 bucks in this group, and they think standing still makes them invisible as we scope them from 60 yards. We only have our general and we are in region 380 so these Mule deer are safe, but we enjoy a good long look and eventually the head buck stands up and they move on as do we.

9:30 am. Tom gets a call from his fishing buddy in Townsend. The weather is 60 degrees with 4 mph winds. Canyon ferry lake is calling, and them walleye ain't going to catch themselves.

10:00 am. We arrive in Townsend to pick up Tom's fishing buddy and load up his boat & trailer onto my truck.

10:15 am. We pick up ice and drinks at town pump and Tom's buddy gets the wife's permission to go fishing. Seems he had errands for 4 PM with the wifey so we are now on the clock.

10:40 am. We launch his boat on canyon ferry lake and realize I don't have my Fishing license "typically I get a fishing license every year in march, but this year I was so busy with work I had decided to abstain for the year. Tom and his buddy have theirs though so I will be without pole. =( No worries though cause I got beer and this boat has tunes and a great fish finder.

10:40 am to 3:30pm. We scoot arround canyon ferry lake. Perfect weather good tunes. We see the fire fighting plane practice on the lake landing and scooping up watter. You can tell the pilots are giving us a show. I'm just sipping beer and watching the fish finder for my buds while they fish. They landed a 21 inch walleye and boy howdy was she fat. When they are bigger than 16 inches or show strong traits we throw em back after a photo op so she goes back, and being the only fish caught the cerimonial pictures and photos are taken prior to release. Time to head back we got a deadline of 4.

3:45 PM. Boat is loaded back onto the trailer and we are on time.

4:00 PM Drop off the boat and owner at home say our goodbyes and head to the commerce. That is the "bar/restaurant in Townsend" for lunch.

5:00 PM lunch was great. I had some chicken. Tom had a cheese burger, and we both have a drink. Everyone at the commerce is jovial and sharing their stories of the day.

5:15 PM lunch is done and we decide to head home.

6:00 PM. I drop Tom off at his place in Belgrade. He has some extra elk steaks and roasts from the spike he took last Thursday out off river road while we were hunting. Boy was he a pain to drag out of there. It took 5 of us and about 3 hours, so the free meat is much appreciated.

6:15 PM Tom and I say our goodbyes and I depart with meet in hand. Including some of that spike elks heart from thursday. Tom swears by it, but makes me promise to flash seer it and not dry it out by over cooking. I never had the heart, so I'll be doing just as Tom asked.

6:35 PM. The sun is setting on the best election day I can remember ever having. I'm home, the dogs are happy to see and sniff me. My gf has dinner going and all is well at home.

8:00pm. I'm on mountain standard time, so I know all the east coast polls have been closed and numbers should be rolling in. I tune into Steve crowder's live election coverage on YouTube.

8:00pm 12:30 am. Crowder's coverage on election night is funny and entertaining and it seems the Biden blowout is a dud. Trump actually has a chance to win this thing, so I decide it is finally time to put an end to my most favorite election day in memory and drift off to sleep with visions of 4 more years of chasing deer and elk arround the mountains, and fishing canyon ferry for walleye in my head regardless of who wins.

I wake up this morning and find out Montana basically went straight Republican ticket and even voted to legalize weed for adults over 21. I'm a mmj patient and have been for years. This is good news in my eyes. The national election has tightened and Biden took a lead in states where he was way behind when I went to sleep.

I'm hearing all this noise about mail in votes and sharpies, and what not, and now I have a buddy who wants me to drive a car trailer down to Franklintown Louisiana to pick up a 70's blazer he had customized.

I'm tempted to take the drive. It would mean a week on the road crossing 1800 miles there and again on the way back, but it will give me an opportunity to spend some time alone with my thoughts as the vote tallies come in over the week.

So what say you ats?

How was your election day 2020?

What are you doing/planning to do over the following week as results continue to come in?

What are you doing to remain centered and calm?

Are you at peace with the result regardless of the outcome, or do you have anxiety over the final outcome?

I had a great Election Day. Been up in the mountains for a while with my girlfriend, came back home and relaxed.

If Trump wins, the country will continue going to crap. Whatever. If Biden wins it’ll go back to the level of crappy it was before Trump.

Crap and more crap. Why worry about it when there’s life to live.

Hey Steve, thanks for this thread.

My Election Day was work all day, but when I could get on my phone and post, I did.

Throughout the evening, it was very much the same with you, the Trump tidal wave destroying election centers across the country, even at one point, the betting odds heavily in favor of Trump. Then, as the evening dragged on, foolery began to arise. Wonky numbers, wierd tallies, MSM calling out different things. Calling states early like VA. Things started spiraling downhill pretty fast overnight.
What were we left with after all that up until now? GOP solidifying control in the Senate, Increasing their power in the House as well, pretty much everybody who played into the election is winning but somehow Trump is suddenly losing?

After about 12AM, I crashed and woke up. Took care of a few things in the AM, posting when I can on my phone and here we are.

What will I do if President Trump loses his Re-Election?

As I stated in another thread, I’ll take a break from politics and than become more engaged at the Local and State levels.

Aside from the Presidential elections, we have some other hot things happening that we can lose our minds to in the meantime.

The Xbox Series X is coming out, along with the PlayStation 5. I haven’t seriously Online gamed since before I joined the Army, so I may get back into it and see how it goes. Destiny 2 has an expansion coming out November 10, I may get into that. Was pretty hard into HALO back in the day. in fact, I have a knack for FPS games. I’m pretty good at them. In Destiny, I use to go flawless during PVP against some of the best players in the Destiny universe, high intensity online shooters.
The online space is the perfect place to escape a Biden Presidency, only coming out to Vote RED all the way down during election seasons.

The PC Market is seeing some new powerful CPUs and GPUs, like the RTX 3000 series cards. I may also get into building a PC.

While we may not get our President at the Executive, I feel we still won on a lot of fronts. Most notably, my State of Texas. I think that and the Supreme Court were my top concerns aside the Presidency and we achieved that.
Who knows, if all this goes to the Supreme Court, wouldn’t it be something if ACB came through for the clutch? Lmfao.

If you speak that crappy about your country, why are you still there? If you hate it that much, why not move elsewhere (except Germany, you will hate Germany!!!!)

Add on topic:
I followed the US elections via radio but had to hear the spin applied by the moderators in and out. Sometimes when I hear radio and they talk about things happening in the US, I can just shake my head how often they get it wrong.

Trump bashing is a big sport here, you won't find a lot of news stations or radio stations that do not do it. Neutral news is dead.

I hope we can keep it out of the courts, but it seems that was the dems plan all along. Gunna be tough road for the dems with a 6-3 court.

"ABC in the clutch" as you put it could be the case, but I see that as another way for the dems to put an astrix on 2020 just like they used the Russiagate to put an astrix on 2016.

Until the dems. Concede 2016, I don't see any hope in them conceding 2020.

They have been able to deny resounding defeat in 2016. So I see no reason for them to do anything other than double down again.

This keeps preventing them from reconsiling with those voters like me who until recently have always been considered the middle ground politically speaking.

This aversion to reality caused me to vote a straight Republican ticket for the first time in my life. I will continue to do so until the dems can show they are willing to come back towards the middle. Since that means abandoning identity politics, cancel culture, and marxists policies like socialised health care and the green new deal, I will not be holding my breath.

The dems have to acknowledge they have hit rock bottom before any reasonable dialogue can be held at a national level. As long as they keep calling everyone to the right of mao hitler I just can't take them seriously.

I'm glad to hear we had similar election days underwerks.

I can appreciate your view on the election outcome as well. Crap and more crap is about as concise as any of us could probably put it.

I agree if trump wins things will get more crappy. That is because dems will continue their policy of orange man bad, and calling everyone right of Mao Hitler while antifa and BLM burn and loot while we are told it's mostly peaceful protests. The rona will be a huge issue for the next 4 years.

If Biden wins the burning and looting stops. The rona becomes a mild flue that fades from the public psyche, and anyone right of mao can probably feel safe from being called Hitler or punched in the face.

The way I see it the dems plan is to kick and scream throwing a tantrum until they get their way. Basically give us power or we burn it all down.

That is not the type of political compromise I'm willing to make.

Election day, we went voting, went to the store, and we came home and I worked around the yard picking up stuff to get ready for the snow. The wife and I were on the net for a little while, but watched a movie at night then went to check out what was happening from ten to one thirty on the net. Typical day....other than sitting in line to vote for an hour and a half minimum. But hey, we talked to some people there, it was a great social gathering in a covid time.
