I'm not saying he didn't live to a ripe old age, but there are ways and ways to do that.
My own grandmother was in her early 80s and sharp as a tack, but her body gave up on her by degrees. In the end, it was a constant round of medical
stays trying to put on thing together faster than another would fall apart, and it just flat wore her out.
Or there's the other way where your body might be willing, but your brain gives up.
Or there are the ones who keep it all more or less together until very shortly before they go and pass on peacefully with little fanfare still in
mostly full possession of their mind and body.
The third way is the one I hope he had.
