£200 fine for parents here according to the local newspaper, I am in a high risk area in the North West UK

The government has warned families that break the Rule of Six, or households that mix in local lockdown areas will be fined.

The Department for Health and Social Care said trick or treating would be banned in areas where household mixing is not allowed effectively 'cancelling' Halloween for many families.

Local lockdown areas currently include Merseyside and West Lancashire with stricter restrictions in place in the Liverpool City region, Warrington and Halton.

California already wanted to do something like this, but they backed off under outcry.

But given what another poster mentioned that Halloween is already the holiday of masks, this shouldn't even really be a huge issue. But it is and will be because these restrictions seem to be more about making life miserable than they are about keeping people safe.

We're talking about everyone in masks and individually wrapped pieces of candy.
