This is really great news..
Having raised our child here in Japan it is very expensive.
The $6,000 comes in very handy it's my understanding is that giving birth to a child in Japan is not covered by the national health insurance and cost about $3,500 for a natural birth.

Here's the link for more information on it.

The Japan News: Maximum subsidy for Japan newlyweds to double to ¥600000.

$3500 for a natural birth is a steal. Though I was active duty Navy when I had my baby, so all I paid for was the crappy food I ate at National Naval Medical Center Bethesda- $16 for 2 days (though 28 hours of that was spent in labor, so I didn’t eat squat that day). But my civilian friends who had babies during that time told me their labors were $10,000 easy, for those who had no complications.

What people in the States don't realize is price caps nation wide is best.

Also our medical ( govt.) University is very cheap for students

Oh no my ex wife was in labor 14 hours with our first, and she told everybody in the delivery room as soon as our daughter was born I was to get a vasectomy immediately. It was the longest night so I can only imagine 28 hours..thank you for your service BTW..

Yes.

Well, you have to figure that the Japanese government wants to encourage an increase in the population. Maybe they foresee a need for more people soon. Somehow, that doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies.

I heard that after lock-down English teaching and "white monkey" jobs (yip, that's what they call them in China) in Asia are now rare for Africans.

"White monkey" jobs are usually for advertisement, or a company wants to impress their competitor by having a "white" architect, or whatever.
So you get hired to sit there all day in a suit, pretending you're this architect.
You're not expected to say anything.

In Japan apparently good business is being a Christian priest at weddings.
Strange apparently, they're all into Shinto and Buddhism, but they want a Western-style reception, and a "priest".

So glad I live in canada. Birth was free.

First was premature so had to go to the hospital but second at home with a midwife as planned. The midwife did everything, both at the hospital and at home (she even made me cups of tea
and all was covered by medical along with pre and post checkups of me and the babies.

Japan and most Asian nations do not want immigration to destroy their racially homogenous society. They are using other means to maintain and/or increase their population. Good for them putting their country first.

Smells like Socialism too me, with the end result leading to much larger debt, rising costs an lowwr value behind the dollar(or yen) and I'm pretty sure it will have to be paid back too...with inflation an interest too.
