Has anybody been there? Do we really know what is going on there? It is supposedly privately owned but was funded and set up by the government. The "CEO" Pat Ladner is an Air Force Lt. Colonel who headed R&D programs. I'm kinda curious as to who is really running that place. We are testing our missile defense system from there, but what else is happening there? Maybe nothing, but it's kinda suspect that the nations first non-Federally owned spaceport has so much military value. There is some info on the web about the center but if anyone has been there I'd like to here from them.

Sorry, can't say that I have. I've actually never heard of it.

Used to live in Kodiak when I was a kid...so likely before any such testing...sorry.

Seems like a bad spot weather-wise...for launching much though...unless you like lots of slush and ice. Guess not so bad in the short summer though....

MMmm...I can still remember the taste of fresh-picked salmon berries and freshly smoked king salmon....
