What effect will the fires have on the election?

I'm curious if the fires in Washington, Oregon, and California can be expected to have an effect in politics.

It's evident that they were started on purpose. (3 people are currently in custody on charges of having been witnessed starting, or attempting to start, fires.)

Is this an attempt to drive America to socialism?

1- Covid wrecks the economy so people are short on money.
2- Fires put them in a situation where they have to evacuate their homes - with no money.

When the Communist revolution happened in Russia, one of the tactics they used was spreading a rumor that there wasn't going to be enough food.

The fires aren't going to affect election outcomes. The most I can see it doing is reinforcing people's already decided vote.

Bill Clinton's former Vice President, AL GORE says send him $$$, and he will reduce the Earth's temperature, which will cause fewer fires. We can all help him out by not using anything that consumes traditionally-produced electricity, gas, and oil.

Well, if 1968 is any indication ( it drove Nixon's landslide election), in 2020, fires/antifa/looting/blm is likely to drive people Right.

Turns out that calling everyone racist, burning down local businesses, attacking people who don’t agree with the insane things you promote, and then topping it off with starting fires in rural areas, really doesn’t help your cause no matter how just it may be.

Imagine that huh

I think it will heat things up.

Nobody will vote because all the mail-in ballots were burned by russians and global warming. The "progressive '20's". Maybe good music will come from it?

Since the FIRES are in BLUE states, fewer Democrats will vote.

None, even if there fires killed 90% of the population in California, Oregon and Washington there'd still be enough Democrats left to give Biden those states.

None, unless a large section of the public comes to believe that the militant wing of the regressive 'progressive' left is starting them. To this point, though, it seems unlikely the public will believe that.

I found it:

The fires are supposed "proof" that climate change is off the rails.

That's where this is going. That's the agenda. (Ironic for a supposed liberal to intentionally burn down a forest to make a point, though.)

Recent legislation in Oregon forbids stores from giving you a plastic straw with your fountain drink unless the customer specifically asks for one. (Also plastic spoons/forks with fast food meals.)

Increasingly stupid (and probably not very effective) laws are getting passed on a yearly basis.

Whether they've been started intentionally or not, the fact that the Dems are jumping on the 'climate change' bandwagon to blame Trump for it just reeks of desperation at this point.

When Al and his friends start living in caves I'll take them seriously and maybe send them some money. But while Al and his friends continue to live a more consumptive life style than I do I can't take them seriously.

He probably said that from his Boeing 747, in route to the east coast...

No different than when I was in middle school. Democrats today act just like the bullies did back then. The kids there would laugh in support of the bully's action so they didn't get bullied. But inside, everyone hated the bully.

a reply to: bloodymarvelous For any individuals or groups who have deliberately tried to set wildfires this season, it will not go well for them. Whether you are interested or not in astrology, it's helpful to be aware that Earth in now in Mars retrograde in the sign of Aries. When that last happened, during September thru November 1941, Nazis began mass murders, and also invaded Russia; the Japanese made plans to attack Pearl Harbor during that same time period. In other words, any violent actions taken during the current three month period may be more likely to result in the perpetrators suffering severe consequences themselves.

For the 2020 US Presidential campaign, is this a reminder that any who violently attack during Mars retrograde end up becoming the losers?
