A Russian An-24 Twin engine plane crashed during an emergancy landing after it's wing hit the ground. Plane was consumed in flames, along with it's
49 passengers. There are currently conflicting reports that there may be some surviving passengers

A plane crash in Russia's far north Wednesday may have killed all 49 people on board, the Transport Ministry said in a statement.
The plane caught fire after its wing clipped the ground on landing near the town of Barandei in the Nenets autonomous region, Russia's Emergencies
Ministry said. Rescue workers had left for the scene.
"According to preliminary figures, 45 passengers and four crew were killed," the Transport Ministry said. The Emergencies Ministry had no
information on the number of people killed in the crash.

The fact there might be survivors is great news. Right now there are conflicting reports, on how many possbile survivors there are, and what caused
the crash. Is this another example of Russians using aircraft that has out lived it's usefulness, or received poor maintenance?
