Sturgis biker rally report says...Really?

A new study on the 80th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota in August suggests that the event, deemed a “superspreader,” added an estimated 267,000 coronavirus cases nationwide and led to about $12.2 billion in health care costs.

Really? That is one fast study with an abundance of information about a biker rally. Where do they come up with this BS?

The paper also estimates the rise in cases in Meade County, South Dakota, the site of the rally, and reports an increase of between 177 and 195 cases compared with a “synthetic control” of similar counties, an approach similar in spirit to the difference-in-difference model. This represents a 100 to 200 percent increase in cases, which also appears to be a serious overestimate. Looking at the raw case data for Meade Country, cumulative cases from Aug. 3 to Sept. 2 increased from by 45 to 74, an increase of only total 29 cases (though a 64 percent increase). With a cumulative case count of only 74 in Meade County by Sept. 2, an estimated increase of 103 more than the total observed over the whole pandemic suggests serious problems with the model.

Sturgis hosted half a million visitors from around the globe, and we're supposed to believe that a study has already been done, and in appx 2 weeks time "they" were able to determine the number of new cases, AND the dollar amount of health care costs being racked up!

Hold the phone! We've been told repeatedly that black lives matter rallies didn't cause corona surges, because the rallies were OUTDOORS!!!!!! Didn't the Sturgis ralley take place outdoors? Like 95% outdoors?
The reasons for the lack of transmission likely have to do with the protesters being outside in the wind and sun and most of them wearing masks.

I am guesstimating 100 million new cases there with a trillion healthcare cost...I wonder how many people have been infected by TRUMP FOOT IN MOUTH disease? That would be around at least 300 million and a quadrillion health care expenses...

Yet there are now news reports leaving out the "estimated" bit, and talking like the numbers are accurate.
The "Sturgis was a superspreader" buzz phrase is now being used by these idiot reporters.


Also, I just did a bunch of online searches for images of both blm marches, and the Sturgis rally.
The MSM shows tons of pics of blm marchers wearing masks. Some of them show every single protestor wearing a mask!
Yet they're mocking Sturgis with tags like "half a million people, no masks". I saw videos of blm marches, with maybe half the people wearing masks. Seriously, you don't have to be Alex Jones to see a conspiracy here.

I could see this coming a mile away from the early reports on sturgis. They are using it to demonize an already marginalized but largely white group that is not quite in line with the status quo. Soon reporters will be banging on about bikers and conspiracy theorists in the same breath. Just plain lame. Another attack on freedom.
