I think this incident is enough where a Special Counsel is required.

The tearing up fo the SOTU speech is the alleged offence, but just to be sure, Pelosi's entire life should be investigated to see if she committed any other crimes. As part of the remit, everyone she knows should also be investigated to see if they ever committed any crimes too. Rudy Gulliani should be appointed as the Special Counsel and a group of prosecutors who have donated to Trump should lead the investigations.

For anyone who thinks that is not reasonable, then I would simply answer, what has she got to hide? If she were to complain about it, she would, of course, be admitting guilt.

I think once the Special Counsel if set up the first thing to do would be to subpoena all her financial records as well as anyone associated with her.

I think a Chinese collusion connection to Pelosi should also be explored. This seems to be a fairly common procedure these days.

Yes of course. Every element of her life and any potential crime she could have ever committed should be part of a Special Counsel remit.

Couldn't we be shoring up our laws and plugging loopholes once these sleazy folks get caught so it doesn't happen again?

Or would that put half of congress out of a job?

Well the US Code is pretty clear. Bye bye Nancy if they're serious about it:

Whoever willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, or destroys, or attempts to do so, or, with intent to do so takes and carries away any record, proceeding, map, book, paper, document, or other thing, filed or deposited with any clerk or officer of any court of the United States, or in any public office, or with any judicial or public officer of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

Although given the maturity she demonstrated, they probably could just send her to her room with some warm milk.

Ah, so is this the thing the hair salon debacle is trying to distract us from?

Everything is FAIR GAME once the DOJ Investigation is started.

We learned that from Paragraph (b) here: www.documentcloud.org...

If you mailed in a ballot, and that ballot has not been tabulated on election day, you should be able to walk into the booth and vote. The implication is, that in some close states, Democrats will have Republican ballots trashed, instead of tabulated.

I'm with care on this one.

If you check the Voting website, and your ballot has not been received by election day, you can "spoil" (cancel) the ballot and vote in person, if you want to.

I'm sure that is what trump was trying to say . He speaks in a round about way and it takes him forever to get to a point but yeah I think this is what he meant.

this would be a good thing for dems to find out for their states too by the way. with all the craziness that the usps is going through right now it would be a good idea to make sure your vote was counted if you do it by mail. Wouldn't wont trump to win because a bunch of dem votes didn't get counted right?

I'm not sure Bill Barr can find that law, seeing he doesn't know whether it's illegal to vote twice, or not.

At any rate, President Trump ceremoniously handed the Vice President and the Speaker a fancy Xeroxed copy of his speech, as a matter of pomp and circumstance. It was not a formal "filing" of a legal document. It was Pelosi's personal copy. She could have sold it on EBay if she wanted to.

First of all, off topic. Second of all, you are lying as usual.

I don't want to waste my tax money on her. Can anyone name anything she's actually helped our country out with? For as long as I can remember she's been a thorn in the United States side. I don't agree with her one bit, but I also think it's stupid to throw her in prison over her opinion, and ripping up pieces of paper.

I don’t either but wasn’t it her just a few months ago stating that no one is above the law?

As little as this law breaking incident would be maybe it is a start to hold these people accountable, whatever side of the aisle they are on. If they break the laws we have in place and there is no punishment and no accountability, why would they stop?

Change needs to happen at some time and place maybe this is the time and place.

You're right. I totally agree something needs to be done. It's embarrassing having her as the speaker of the house.

In other words, "The Federal Government Is Going To Waste More Taxpayer Money On Fruitless Efforts"

Of all the f*cking things they could be better spending their f*cking time on, holy sh*t. Is THIS crap really important?

This is 100% the reason why I hate the two parties. They pull the same bullsh*t on each other. F*ck all these people, they're all pieces of sh*t.

And damnit, if ATS is going down the drain and no one wants to buy ads on here, can we remove the f*cking curse filter?

Any guesses on what the Department of Justice will determine? Should Nancy Pelosi face charges of some kind?

That is what attorney general Barr has said on numerous occasions. We will see how it plays out in real life.

I remember Nancy Pelosi saying in September of last year that she did not want to impeach President Trump over a phone conversation... that he was not worth the effort.

3 months later she had impeached president Trump over two items not even related to that call.

Opening an investigation into Nancy Pelosi can yield evidence of crimes not related to her tearing up the State of the Union speech.

Nancy Pelosi may have committed a violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2071, Section 2071 (a) when she ripped up President Trump’s State of the Union address

This violation is punishable by up to three years in prison.

Any guesses on what the Department of Justice will determine? Should Nancy Pelosi face charges of some kind?

-CareWeMust

Did you miss the part in the very same article you cited where the law professor said:

"Her copy of the State of the Union address is not a government record or government property at all," Douglas Cox, professor at City University of New York School of Law, told PolitiFact at the time. "It is personal property."

If i paid for the paper and ink, it's not her personal property
